WHAT TYPE OF ELECTRICAL PLUG IS NEEDED FOR THIS 18 CFT FREEZER LOCATED IN A GARAGE. IT IS CURRENTLY PLUGGED INTO A 110V GFI OUTLET. THE OUTLET IS A DUAL PLUG OUTLET WITH A RECHARGEABLE BATTERY- POWERED VACUUM CLEANER PLUGGED INTO THE OTHER OUTLET. THE GFI HAS RECENTLY TRIPPED. SHOULD THE ELECTRICAL OUTLET BE UPGRADED? IF YES, WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED UPGRADE?

Hi Carol, thank you for the question. Plug into a grounded 3 prong outlet. A 115 Volt, 60 Hz., AC only, 15- or 20-amp fused, grounded electrical supply is required. It is recommended that a separate circuit serving only your freezer be provided. Use an outlet that cannot be turned off by a switch. Do not use an extension cord. We hope this information helps!

Why is the top half of my freezer warm and the bottom half cold?

Hi Randy, thank you for contacting us. Based on our research, we would recommend you check that the air vents are clear. Get all items out at one time, keep food organized, and close the door as soon as possible. Adding a large amount of food warms the freezer causing the freezer to run longer to cool back down. Check that the temperature control is set correctly for surrounding conditions. You also need to check the temperature sensors, part numbers PS11753994 and PS11753996, the evaporator fan motor, and part number PS11753712. We hope this solves your problem!

Compressor would not run. My daughter was told that compressor was bad and needed to be replaced. Cost would be $550 labor plus parts. I could hear a clicking sound I believe was made by the starter relay. I ordered the parts from part select and had them in three days.
