Wanted to update surface parts to a very old (27 yrs?) jenn-air range on an island
The first task was to find the rings, drip bowls and elements on the "PartSelect" webpage. It was surprising easy, especially since I have no experience whatsoever in replacing range parts. The ordering was straight-forward, and most of the parts arrived within a week, a couple were back-ordered, but arrived a week later. Instillation was easy - just unplug elements, lift parts out, and insert new parts. I made a mistake in ordering - for the left side of the range, no adaptor rings are needed. I returned these excess parts to PartSelect, and within a week, they refunded the costs of these parts. Overall, I'm very please with the parts and service.

Wanted to "renew" cook top
The drip pans, burner knobs and electric surface elements are easily removed and replaced. The new receptacles for the burners were NOT easy to replace, but electricians were on hand to install when they replaced the cook top into the new counter top. Even the electricians had to read the instructions - and remove the control panel to replace one of the receptables. Looks like a new cook top.

Replaced surface elements and knobs
Removed surface elements by pulling straight out of electrical fitting. Replaced with surface elements purchased online by pushing directly into electrical connector. Back of burner knob larger than post on stove. These were returned to PartSelect for credit. All items ordered arrived with a day of placing order - waiting on confirmation that the knobs have been received. I will definitely use PartSelect in the future.

Burner would not get hot.....only warm. connector was worn as well.
First, I removed the two screws holding the element in place. I removed the element from the connector. I then removed the trim ring and drip pan. I unscrewed the retaining screw holding the connector and pulled out the connector about three inches and disconnected the two wires leading to from the old connector. I removed the old connector. I then connected the two wires leading from the new connector and fasten the connector to its retainer with a screw . I reinserted the drip pan and trim ring and plugged the new element into the connector. I turned on control knob to high and tested the element., which glowed red hot. Job completed and customer very well satisfied..

Connector for burner broke old and well used
Had to drill out screw for old connector bracket and also had to extend wires from controls this took most time. Once done with this used wire cutters to strip back insulation and then put the whole mess back together also used a larger wire nut to reconnect wires.

Cooktop was looking old and worn though there was no working problem.
All of the "old" pieces were very easily removed and replaced with the new pieces. The update looks terrific and works just fine!

Burner points and recepticle pitted
removed burner and recepticle and replaced new one. You don't have any place to comment on service, so I'll put it here. I talked to Herb and ordered parts with him on a Monday afternoon. He was very helpful. The part came Thursday about noon and I immediatly installed parts and my wife cooked supper (thats southern for the evening meal) that night. A really wonderful experience. Thank's Herb.

Both the 8'' burner and the vent fan didn't work.
1st-turned off breaker, 2nd- took out the two screws that hold the control panel and lifted it up so I could remove the surface unit switch,3rd- removed wires from old switch and securing nut and removed old switch,4th- installed new switch and plugged in wires, then turned on breaker to see if burner would work and it did. 5th-turned off breaker again and removed the wires from the fan switch and used nut driver to remove retainer nuts,6th-installed new fan switch and plugged in wires, 7th- put control console back in place and the two screws that hold it in place. Turned breaker back on and everything worked.Didn't use the burner receptacle or burner.

Burner was not heating
Took an volt/ohm meter tested the connections, burner resistance and wiring AFTER turning off the power. Note: I used the volt/ohm meter to check to be sure power was off. Just in case the circuit breaker box wasn't labeled correctly. After determining the switch was open and was not making connection I ordered a new one from Parts Select. I also ordered a new burner and wiring with socket since the old one appeared well used with age. By replacing the burner, wiring and switch it put the stove top in a like new condition. Parts Select was fast and had great prices. It was very easy and the connections to the switch were plug type making the repairs very easy.

Adaptor ring and drip bowl corroded over the years and the heating element was acting up.
I removed the old heating element, then the drip pan and then the adaptor ring. I cleaned the residue and buildup that was under the ring and on the surface below, I then snapped in to place the adaptor ring and then oriented and placed the drip bowl in place and finally oriented and pushed the heater element leads into their socket.
I turned the heating dial on and immediately felt the element warming up.
Checked Low temp and then Hi temp. Everything is working and looking fine. The wife wants to replace the other ones, she says that it's easier than cleaning them.
