Where is this element located. How do you access it. Is there a video demonstration to replace?
For model number JB400DP4BB

Hi Nancy, Thank you for the question. This element is located at the bottom of the oven under the floor of the oven. We do not currently have a video on this element but here are some steps to install the new element. First disconnect power to the appliance. Pull appliance out from the wall so left side is exposed.Next remove cooktop. Remove the outer side panel by removing the screws. There s also one hidden screw inside front of drawer section. Remove side insulation retainer and unhook the wire insulation retainers at the top. Disconnect hidden element ground wire and unplug the element. Inside the oven cavity, remove the screw in the lower left corner. Slide the element out from under oven. when reinstalling, make sure the bottom insulation is fully covering the bottom of the base module. Slide the hidden bake assembly in from the side, being careful not to move the insulation. Reconnect the side insulation retainer and element ground wire. Reconnect screw at lower left inside oven cavity. Plug the hidden element wire harness into element terminals. Reattach outer side panel and cooktop. Hope this helps!

Is this GE range suppose to have a bottom heating element? The one that came with the house I bought does not have one and I'm wondering if it's suppose to only have one. It certainly takes a long time to heat up and cook any thing.

I need to test bake element for continuity. Where can this be accomplished at the back of the oven? I have removed the back panel for access to the wiring.
For model number JB650DF4BB

Hi Frank, Thank you for your question. You actually need to remove the bake element from your appliance before doing any tests so that you do not get false readings. We do have information on how to remove this part underneath the part information in another answer. Once you remove that part from your appliance, it should read somewhere between 0 and 50 ohms. Good luck with your repair.

Stove came with the house. I do not see a baking element at the bottom of the oven compartment but two screws in the back at the bottom where it would plug in. Is the element missing or is under the oven bottom? Looks like it came this way.

I am trying to replace the baking element for my oven. We can not figure out how to get to it! After taking the panel out from above the inside of the warming drawer we found what looks like a connection but it doesn't have an element there. Is there a video or diagram somewhere we could look at to figure this out?
For model number JB910S0K1SS

Hi Shelia, Thank you for your question. As per the manufacturer, this is how you would install this part: 1. Disconnect power. 2. Pull the unit out so left side is exposed. 3. Prop up or remove cooktop. 4. Remove outer side panel via visible hex screws and one blind screw inside front of drawer compartment. 5. Remove side insulation retainer via two screws mating with base, and unhooking wire insulation retainers at the top. 6. Disconnect hidden bake ground wire and unplug hidden bake element. 7. Inside the oven cavity, remove screw in lower left corner. 8. Slide hidden bake assembly out from under oven. TO REPLACE 1. Make sure the bottom insulation is fully covering the bottom of the base module. 2. Slide the hidden bake assembly in from the side, being careful not to displace the insulation. 3. Reattach side insulation retainer and hidden bake ground wire. 4. Reconnect screw at lower left inside oven cavity. 5. Plug hidden bake wire harness into element terminals. 6. Reattach outer side panel and cooktop. 7. Plug in unit, test and slide back into place. I hope that helps! Good luck with your repair.
