Bake Element - 240V

After viewing the diagram on partselect.com, I knew this would be easy. I first shut off the circuit breaker to the oven, then used a phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws on the plate securing the element. Once removed, I disconnected the two wires, and removed the old element. I then connected the two wires to the new element, and screwed the plate back into place. I then switched the circuit breaker back on and tested the new bake element which was working perfectly. This do it yourself repair saved me time and money not having to call and schedule a repair man. Thank you so much partselect.

FIRST I REMOVED THE TWO SCREWS THAT HOLD THE BAKE ELEMENT. I THEN PULLED IT OUT FAR ENOUGH TO DISCONNECT THE TWO WIRES, AND REVERSED THE PROCESS TO CONNECT AND SECURE THE NEW ELEMENT. I THEN REMOVED THE SCREWS LOCATED UNDER THE CONTROL PANEL THAT HELD IT IN PLACE. I REMOVED THE WIRING, 3 CABLE CONNECTIONS, FROM THE CLOCK CIRCUIT BOARD, AND THE TWO SCREWS HOLDING IT IN PLACE. I INSTALLED THE NEW CIRCUIT BOARD, AND RECONNECTED THE WIRING, AND RETURNED THE CONTROL PANEL TO ITS PLACE.
THE WIFE WAS UPSET THAT SHE HAD OFFERED TO DO SOME OF MY CHORES WHILE I FIXED THE OVEN WHEN SHE FOUND THAT IT HAD ONLY TAKEN ME 10 MINUTES TO MAKE THE REPAIRS. THE PARTS WERE A PERFECT MATCH, AND THE JOB COULDN'T HAVE GONE ANY SMOOTHER.

Stove is over 16 years old. I am getting new kitchen in the summer, did not want to buy another stove! I looked on line and found how easy it was to replace element. We turned off power as suggested and removed element to make sure it matched the one on line. I ordered element on Sunday afternoon and it arrived Tuesday afternoon, FedEx ground. Insert the clips and a couple screws and we were having oven fries for dinner. I could not be happier and pretty darn proud of myself for saving a couple hundred dollars on a repair man!

I rremoved two screws and pulled element out about 3 inches. I un hooked the two wires and tested with an ohnm meter to determine the condition of the element. Element was bad so I ordered a new one. Service and price were great. Easy fix. Thank you.
Don't forget to unplug first.

I removed the screws that held the element in place. I then pulled the element out and disconnect the two wires. Connected the wires and place element in place and screws to hold in place.

Note: this is the second part that I acquired to fix the problem. Had I listened to my wife the first time the problem would have been solved the first time around because she made the correct diagnosis.

Unfotunely this was not the entire problem. Ended up purchasing a new stove.

I went on line on Sunday. I identified the part needed ordered it on line and it was delivered on Tuesday at 7:30AM. Incredibly easy, fast and reasonably priced.

I only had to unscrew two screws to remove the existing element. Unfortunately, when I removed the element I found that the electrical wire connected to it had melted off, so the element is actually still good. I had to strip the wire back and put a new wire connector on. Once that was done I hooked the element back on and screwed it back together.

always remeber the first thing to do when working on electric components turn off the breaker
remove 2 screws securing the element, pull the element out enough to view the wire terminal attached to element and remove with needle nose plirers ,apply to new element ,replace screws

My son put in the new part and turned on the oven. The broiler heated, but not the bake element. He switched the wires to find out if the bake element would work. It heated, but not the broiler. That told him the control board was a problem. He took it off and could see that one of the solder points had burned off in the explosion. He cleaned the board and put on a new dot of solder. He put it all together and it worked perfectly.

Removed the old coil and plugged in the new. 2 screws held the coil into oven connector.

Simply unscrewed two screws holding the old element and replaced it with the new one. Note, of course I had to disconnect the wires that plugged into the back. Really easy and quick, less than $50 total for an that would cost over $2200 today.

Very easy. 1. Turn off power to oven. 2 move the adjustable grills out to gain better access. 3. There are two phillips head screws that hold a bracket to the back of the inside oven. Unscrew both screws. 4 pull the bake element out about 6". This exposes the two electrical connections. 5. Use a plier and wiggle the slide on connector off of the old bake element. 6. With your fingers, slip the old connectors onto the new bake element. 7. Slide the element and wires back in the insulated pocket. 8. Screw both screws back in. 9. Turn on power and make your wife back you chocolate chip cookies just to "test". Sit in an easy chair and enjoy your cookies. If this took longer than 30 minutes inclding baking the cookies, it took you too long. If the cookies are not good, replace the wife. May take a little loger though :)

This slide out range requires that you remove two screws that hold the element into the back of the oven, slide the range out, remove a metal cover, and then disconnect the two spade connectors from the element. Reverse is the opposite. I could not find the element anywhere locally. I live in a rural area of the Smokey Mountains. Thanks to PartSelect, I was up and running in only four days.
