Belt broke
Following video instructions, replaced the belt. Did it once before so this time it was easier. Two years ago I replaced the plastic fan as it was spinning on moter shaft making a loud noise. (The moulded plastic fan has a flat which slides on the motor shaft. The motor start up torque over time (15 + years)stripped the flat allowing the fan to spin on assembly.) The mistake I made was not replacing the belt when I had the machine apart to replace the fan.

drum not turning
I removed the front and the bulkheads as well as the drum. I replaced both wheels, the belt and the front and rear seals. The seals were definately the hardest part. I also cleaned the dust and lint out from inside the dyer and cleaned the outside, which is why it took me as long as it did. I also replaced the duct to the outside. It works as good as new.

replaced the worn tumbler belt
In addition to removing front of dryer, had to ultimately remove the access plate at rear of machine to thread the belt. Found aligning the belt to be a bit of a chore as the belt wanted to ride in the groove on the drum which didn't align with the motor pulley. Didn't have the correct wrench for the four sheet metal screws that held the rear plate and had to use pliers. Patience finally paid off and the machine is back in action.

noise was loud all through cycles-sounded like something was rubbing on drum
followed online instructions plus did extensive cleaning on fan blower and air exist chambers along with the removeable lint fileter chamber and any other dust inside the main cabinet. Cleaned residue buildup on belt and drum surface areas. Drum roller kits did not supply or mention the spring wave washers located on the back side of the roller which keep the wheels from moving back and forth on the shaft. All phases went ver well and dryer is now running very quiet again.

Electric Dryer slow to dry and noisey
Determined that noise was coming from fan end of drive motor.Discovered that the plastic fan was slipping on drive motor shaft. Fan was supposed to have a flat that engaged the shaft to prevent slipping. It was worn totally round. New fan and clamp and it works like new. Faster drying time now. Replaced drive belt for drum also as it was becoming cracked from age. Easy fix. Very fast delivery on parts. Thanks a lot.

The dryer made a thumping noise while turning
Removed the 2 screws on lower front of dryer, lift up the front panel & remove. Next, remove the 4 screws holding front panel that holds drum and disconnect wiring then remove it. Next, pull drum out 6 inches, reach under drum and take belt off tension roller and pull drum out. Next, remove and replace tension wheel. THE WHEEL WAS MAKING A THUMPING NOISE WHEN TURNING).I ordered the wheel from Part Select and received it in only 2 days. The hardest part was getting the belt back on.
Also while in the dryer was apart I replaced the roller shaft washers and lubricated all bearings.
