Freezer coils icing up and temperature warm
I had a frig several years ago do the same thing -- freezer coils icing up and temperature warm. I had watched the repairman come in and take the back off the freezer and install some part, I knew not what. So I got on YouTube and four this website with instructions and directions of how the put the part in and which part it was. I am good at trouble shooting and was very comfortable after watching the video of what to order. I ordered the part. The instructions were clear. After the coils had thawed, it took less than 30 minutes to install the new part. I installed a Defrost Heater. My refrigerator has worked ever since. I am not a mechanic nor a fixer upper. I am a 60 year old female school teacher.

The rifrigerator would not cool
Determined with ohm meter that the defrost heater was defective (open). Thermostat also was defective per ohm/volt test. Replacement of the heater/thermostat assembly was very simple. Remove two screws and I think two 1/4" that secured the panel. Unplug the harness and I think four more screws securing the harness assembly. Remove harness and install the new harness. Route wiring as the old harness and secure with removed screws. Plug back in and reinstall panel. Work great once again.
