The ice maker door wouldn't open automatically
After replacing the solenoid several months ago, I concluded that the problem could only be the electronic circuit board that controls the timing and delay. The part arrived sooner than I expected. Installing it involved removing only six screws and unplugging two connections. The whole project took only about 10 minutes and now my ice maker works like new. Total cost was less than $55. Saved me several hundred dollars not to mention my personal time had I called in a repairman.

Light switch broken/door handle worn
To repair the light switch you need to replace the control board since the switch is not replaceable. The control board is easily gotten to by removing the outer cover, which snaps out, the removing the screws that hold the housing for the control board, make sure you disconnect the power and turn off the water supply before you remove the outer cover.. The board is held in place by a bracket which has two screws, make sure you disconnect the two wiring harnesses before the bracket. Once you get the bracket off the control board slides right out. To install the new board, just reverse the process.
Changing the handle is accomplished by remove popping out the top and bottom trim pieces, then remove the upper and lower screws from the handle. Reverse the process to install the handles.

Ice maker timing was off
The Ice maker would not run through a cycle. It would fill with water and produce ice but would need a little help by pressing up on the ejector to run through its cycle. Otherwise, it would not bring the ice to the holding bend. Sometimes the water would not fill. The icemaker was making ice it just was not letting the ice maker run through its cycle so I figured it had to be the circuit board. I bought the circut board which was easy to install. 1) Turn off water line and unplug power. 2) Pop off front panel plate at ice cube select switch area. 3) Unscrew 4 screws that holds control panel housing in place. 4) Remove panel assembly by disconnecting two different wiring plugs. 5) Unscrew 2 screws that allows access to control circuit board at end cap. 6) Remove circuit board by sliding it out of the assembly housing. 7) Install new circuit control board in assemble housing and screw on end cap retainer. 8) Attach two electrical wiring plugs. 9) Install control board assemble housing into frig opening and secure with 4 screws. 10) Install front panel plate (pops on). 11) Plug in power and turn on water line.

Knob broke off about 3 years ago, ice/water stopped working about 8 months ago
I only took on this repair on because of the comments I read here...was soooo simple! Removed the knobs by pulling down firmly, popped off the front panel, removed 4 faceplate screws, popped that off...removed two screws holding the control board faceplate on. Unplugged the old control board, replaced it with the new one, plugged the new one in...replaced all the screws, replaced the knobs and it was done!!! One funny note...be sure to turn the electricity off to your fridge...when you reinstall the board water and/or ice start working right away. I think I'll go have a massage with all the money we saved by not having the repair person come out!

Ice despenser wouldn't dispence ice
All i had to do was pop off the front trim, remove 4 small screws, unplug two plugs and replace the board.
It took me a grand total of 9 minutes to get the job done.
Way cheaper than having a repair man come to the house twice, once to diagnose, and once to replace the board he would have ordered and marked up.

The switch for the ice and water dispenser broke.
First I shut off the water supply and disconnected the power to the refrigerator. Remove the two finger tabs that are used to for the light swirch and ice/water by pulling straight down. Remove the cover to the dispenser assembly by pulling it out by hand. I removed the four small phillips head screw in each corner of the assembly. Pull the assembly out just enough to expose the circuit board connectors. Note the color of the wires and their position and location. The connectors are different sizes and should not be confused. Remove the two connector by pull them out straight. You can remove the entie assembly , but pay attention to the the water actuator when the assembly is removed entirely to prevent damage. Place the the dispenser assemby on a solid surface and remove the two screws holding the circuit board in place. Pay attention to the position of the black circuit board retainer be fore removing it. The circuitboard should be removed by pryiing gently on each side until it is released. Reverse the procedure for installation of the circuit board..

Water / ice cheap plastic selector knob broke off.
First I shut off the water to the refrigerator and unpluged the electrical cord. Then I unsnapped the cover to the control board assembly located above the ice/water selector knob. Then removed four screws holding the control board assembly. Then I tilted the assembly out far enough to unplug the two sets of wires connected to the control board. Then I removed the two screws holding the control board to the plastic assembly. You are then able to lift the control board out of the assembly. Be careful tilting out the assembly. I pulled too hard and removed the whole thing from the refrigerator which disconnected the ice/water actuator lever and I had some problems getting it re-installed correctly. Installation is basically the reverse of removal. I suggest testing it before snapping back on the final cover plate. I wouldn't recommend trying this repair unless you've done some kind of basic automotive or appliance repair... you can always try it and call a repairman if you get stuck. Good luck!

Water / crushed ice / cubed ice switch broken
Unplugged and shut off water. Popped off the face plate from below. Unscrewed 4 screws. Pulled out control board assembly. Pulled off two wire connectors. Unscrewed 2 screws to remove control board fastener. Replaced control board and reversed steps to assemble. When plugged in fridge, the switch was stuck on, so unplugged. Had to remove the rubber push plate and reassemble making sure the plastic lever was set properly in the control board. Reassembled and it worked properly.

Icemaker quit dispensing ice
1. You should probably unplug refrigerator before starting. 2. Pull down on the two plastic chrome plated selector buttons to remove them. 3. Pry off the plastic cover plate that has water, crushed & cubes printed on it. 4. Remove the four screws at each corner. This will release the control module housing. Pull out the housing while making note of how the water supply line is positioned underneath-could take a digital picture for later reference) 5. Unplug the plugs at each end of the board. 6. Remove the two screws at each end of the black bracket that retains the control module. 7. Pull out the old control module. 8. Insert the new control module. 9. Replace the retaining bracket removed in step 6. 10. Plug in the the two plugs removed in step 5. 11. Carefully reseat the control module housing back on the refrigerator (make sure that the water supply line is positioned correctly) 12. Replace the the 4 screws removed in step 4. 13. Line up the posts on the the cover panel with the holes on the control module housing and press back into place. 14. Replace the two chrome plated plastic selector buttons. 15. Plug in the refrigerator & test.

Icemaker slider wouldn't slide over to cube ice, only between water and crushed ice.
Repair was quick. Unplug refridgerator first. Pop off faceplate, pull down on slider knobs to remove them, remove 4 screws holding unit in and pull it out enough to see the two screws holding the control board bracket (black on our unit). You can see them from the top looking down. Remove the two screws, lift out bracket, pull out the old control board, insert the new one, and replace things in reverse order.
