The driver Cup was broken
Actually before the new ordered part arrived I dismantled the ice making/holding bucket and remeoved the cup. I glued the two parts together at both broken edges with special modelling glue, drilled small holes on either side of the brake, introduced a paper clip and bent the clip behind to hold the pieces together. The cup is stronger than the new one. The new part came a few days later and I'm keeping it for possible future breaks. This repair could have saved me $30+ Thanks for your interest. Erol

Freezer defrosting; Temp Controls inoperable; Clicking sounds; lights on. Unplugging and then plugging back in would be a temporary fix, then it would revert to defrosting. Ice and water dispensers inoperable.
Replacing the main control board was not difficult. When I received the order confirmation from partselect.com they included a link to their repairman video for the part replacement. Unplug; unscrew the panel; unplug the wired connections from the old control board; do use pliers to squeeze the corner clips that hold the board in place and remove old board. Slide new board over the clips; plug in all the connectors (they each have different number of pins so you can't confuse them); replace the back cover and plug the refrigerator back in. Very quiet now; temperature controls work; freezer works and as an added bonus, the ice and water dispenser is also back in operation. I had thought it was a separate issue, but lo and behold, replacing the main control board fixed everything. Thank you partselect!

Refridgerator not cooling, freezer frosting over
First, I had to remove the freezer drawer front. This is 8 large phillips head screws. then remove the plastic cover over the drawer slides. to do this, remove the white center screw from the slide near where it attaches to the drawer front. then the plastic cover will slide off pushing to the rear of the slide. take off the slides from the freezer walls by removing the phillips screws and pulling them towards you. They have tabs/slots in the rear. remove the center tray support and support bars, too. the icemaker has to come out, that is just 2 phillips screws but you also have to disconnect the electrical connector. just squeeze the locking wings and rock/pull. a screw in the top center of the back panel comes out. Lift and pull the back panel out. The evaporator coil appears. The thermocouple is attached to the coil in the upper right. Cut that one's wires and take it out. Just cut back about an inch from the back of the thermocouple, there is not much slack. Seperate and strip the wires back about 3/8 inch. Do the same for the new thermocouple. I twisted the wires together and used a solder sleeve to join the wires. The sleeve is just a little plastic tube that has a ring of solder in it that melts with heat gun heat. You can join the wires using butt connectors or whatever method appeals to you. I just wound the extra wire and put a cable tie around it, there is plenty of hiding space in that area. Make sure the new thermocouple is contacting the coil firmly. At this point, for a test, I left everything apart, propped the drawer against the opening and plugged the fridge in. Note that the evaporator fan will not start spinning immediately! It will just sit there making little bumps like it wants to go. The temp in the coil has to get settled before the electronics in the refridge will tell the fan to spin. It takes maybe 20 minutes. Reassemble. Fridge and freezer work great. It does take several hours for all to get cold again.

Replacing the drive cup
Twisted out the remnant of the old drive cup; inserted the new cup but could not get the augur and cup back into the proper location in the tray, at first. Then I used a wide nylon kitchen spatula which I slid between the drive cup and the hole. By pushing down carefully on the augur and pulling the spatula out, the drive cup then snapped into the hole. Job done!

Icemaker made ice but would not dispense cubed or crushed. Problem identified as broken ice dispensing drive cup.
Followed instructions provided on website. However, in my case (and at least one other contributor) the dispensing shaft had moved forward and drilled itself through the plastic housing. Finally got the disassembly completed by prying the housing out and pulling the shaft up. Repair worked beautifully.....for about a week and then the same part failed.

The water despenser flow was slow.
Shut off water supply and disconnect water line. Remove the pannel on the lower back and disconect the water line from the water filter head. Remove the water line guide hole cover. Remove the water filter and the water filter enclosure which needs on tools to remove. Remove the two nut screws at the top with a ong 1/4 inch nutdriver or a 1/4 socket and a long extention. Pull water filter head and tubing out. Install the new water filter head with tubing. Be careful not to over tighten the nut screws holding the water filter head in place. Replace water filter and connect the tubing. Trun on the water supply and run water through the water despenser until no air comes out. Check for leaks. If there is no leaks replace the the water filter enclosure, the tubing guide hole cover, and the lower pannel on the back.

not cold enough in the freezer compartment and cabin pressure also warmer than usual.
I called angies list to get a name of a repair person . We were having very hot weather and I did not want my freezer food to spoil. The cost was not bad for the look see $127.00 plus parts and labor added on to this. I decided to look on the internet and found your services and the video on how to replace the part that might be bad. I bought a new thermostat and also a sensor and added the control board as the refrigerator is 13 years old. I spent a total of $206.00 and did the work myself so no labor cost. I was so happy as a new refrigerator like this one would be $3100.00 plus tax. Thank You R. Polglase

Water dispenser in door leaks, would not completely shut off.
Watched the video. Extremely helpful. Replaced valve and now the water dispenser shuts off, like brand new. The valve must have had some calcification and would not completely close.

chunk of curved white plastic came out when my wife was getting crushed ice. The "snow" from the crushed ice over time builds up at the ice chute and distorts the plastic parts around the ice knives. No amount of conversation can get the person to check the chute.
Empty out all the ice. Check how all moving parts operate together and get a clear picture when you replace parts so you know how it is to look upon completion. Unscrew the four screws that hold the front housing together and make sure you remember where you placed them. Three are the same and one is stainless steel at the ice container deflector. Replace the parts and attempt to put it together the first time. The ice auger had to be disconnected with a "C" washer to lock it in place along with a thin washer bearing. Take it apart two or three times to make sure the auger works before going to the next step. After the third or fourth evolution, it was like field stripping your M-1 rifle in boot camp it went so smoothly. It was really simple to do this job, just a little tedious. Now my wife can have crushed ice again and in a few months, some of the same plastic parts may break again because of the "snow" build-up. I know where I can find the parts, or maybe just buy another refrigerator. Thank you for seeing how the repair went. Jim
