washer not filling with water
Maytag made this easy. The water value was mounted to a plate on the back of the washer removed one screw, pulled the plate from the washer, removed the valve, reconnected the electrical connections and outlet hose, re inserted the plate, attached with screw and tested. 30 minutes tops and I hwve never done this before. Thanks to partsselect and others for recomenning the correct repair. Others had suggestjng the timer device ($180 +) for the parts. OUCH !!!!!

Washer was making squeeling noise
I first thought I would buy a new washer, however, after seeing the complaints that purchasers were having with the new models, I decided to repair my old 'trusty' Maytag. I first watched the video that showed the replacement of the parts and followed the directions in the video. Since the washer was old I also cleaned all of the pullies to remove any debris and grease that had accumulated on them over the years. After replacing the pump and belts I ran the washer and it sounded like a new one! I saved myself over $600 by repairing my old washer rather than buying a new one. They don't make washers like they used to.

Washer quit running when lid was closed
This repair took me longer because I was just giving it a try - I have no experience, although I tend to be "handy." I'm sure anyone with experience would rate this as "easy" and have taken only a short time. I had to watch the video several times to understand what to do - and the comments were helpful too. My washer is an OLD maytag, so I removed the front of the dash and pulled it forward to access the electronics. My switch had only 2 prongs, so I hooked up to the "lid closed" option on the new switch. It works perfectly now. Very pleased I gave it a try.

Water was running on the floor everytime we washed a load of laundry.
I watched a utube video showing how to do the job. It was simple considering I am not mechanically gifted. The whole job took about 20 minutes. The hardest part of the job was moving the dryer out of the way first.

Just followed the video posted on the Parts Select web site. The actual repair took just a few minutes, the total repair time included getting all the plunder out of the way in order to move the washer out from the wall and then cleaning under the washer, dryer and utility sink after the repair was complete.

Water leaks into wash tub when machine is not in use
Unplugged AC cord. Removed hot and cold supply hoses. Removed front cover (2 Phillips screws near bottom). Raised lid, and removed fastening screw for injector tube. Removed retaining screws for inlet valve mounting plate. Positioned mounting plate partially inside rear of machine and removed (4) wires for solenoid connections. Re-positioned mounting plate slightly outside machine and removed valve mounting screws and old valve. Attached new valve (no modification to valve needed for my machine), and worked backwards through the steps listed above.

Water never drained from washer
I removed 2 Philips head screws from bottom of front cover and removed cover. Tilted washer back and installed a 6' wooden block under washer. removed 3 hex head screws from pump base using my flex shaft nut driver and a 5/16" socket. Removed the 2 hose clamps from pump and lifted pump out. Pump appeared to be ok but checking by turning the pulley I found the impeller did not turn, shaft key must be sheared. The new pump came the next day at 2:00 PM and it was an exact replacement. Installed and up and running in about 15 min. Working fine.

noisy belts
I watched the repair video twice even though the repair was very easy. Just like the video, I unplugged my machine, unscrewed the front cover screws and removed the front cover, moved it forward and leaned it back to expose the bottom and replaced the belts. wow! Simple and back to a quiet washer. It took me longer to clean the floor and inside of the washer then it did to replace the belts! Thank you so much
