Ice maker quit
I went to your site thinking the problem was lack of electronic/elec signal. Wrong! I then was guided to your "ice door repair kit". I only then realized(after viewing the repair video) that ice door SOLENOID failure was far more likely than elec circuitry failure.Since it was inexpensive I ordered the kit......gambling that it would fix it; and it did! On my first try I installed the close-door spring wrong but then reviewed the video and instantly saw my error and corrected it. I also got an elec nibble (shock) once because I hadn't disconnected as the video said to do. Good parts, good information, timely response! "Piece of Cake"! Cheers John Taylor

The ice maker door broke
It was not that hard. I am not totally inept, but also not a mechanice or techie. I have discovered that a lot of repair jobs have a video that shows you how to do things, and seeing it done makes a task doable for me.

The original door flap broke
The replacements parts were aftermarket parts so I could not simply replace the one piece I needed. I did replace all the original parts with the aftermarket parts and it works perfectly. I wish the design was closer to the original, but it is just as functional. The only problem I ran into was the images on the instruction sheet were difficult to see. The text however did an exceptional job of explaining each step.

The Ice Maker Wouldn't Dispense Ice
First we ordered a new solenoid. . . The little piece that opens and closes whenever you push the button to dispense ice. That definitely needed to be replaced, and it was easy to do. However, that didn't fix the problem, so we looked and looked at the assembly and decided that a spring was missing. We ordered the spring, and when it arrived, we found that it matched exactly one that was already on the assembly. :-) Not the problem. Thirty minutes later we figured it out,. The diagrams at part select were not helpful with this. It was a matter of figuring out how the magnetic weight fit into the assembly. That's all it was! Now we have an extra spring for the future.

double outlet water valve leaks water
shut water off to fridge. remove dust panel from bottom of fridge on back of fridge. remove screws on bracket that holds water valve. remove lines(2) that connect directly to top of water valve (keep track of which line goes to which side on top of valve). cut about 1/2 inch off of those 2 water lines. take those 2 water lines and just insert/push them into their proper location on top of new water valve. reattach bracket. replace dust panel. turn water back on to fridge and check for leaks.

the flap holding the ice back broke
First I cut the power to the refrigerator. Followed the instructions for removing the door panel. Disconnected the electrical panel to the door controls. replaced the flap only and reassembled. Hate I had to by the solenoid when all I needed was the flap. Ordered the part and had it the next day, very fast shipping. I have used PartSelect for other appliance parts and had good service from them.

Water leak on the intake valve
I accessed the model with the model number, isolated the part and ordered it online. Very simple procedure and great online interface to identify the part. On receiving the part I disconnected the water line, followed the instructions to remove the bracket and then the valve. Re-attached the new valve and replaced the bracket. Attached the water supply and tested the valve. Once it all worked fine I moved the refrigerator back into position.

Small Ice Cubes and hardly any Water at Dispensor
After Watching the Video, this Job was very easy. I moved the Refridgerator away from the Wall, disconnected Power, shut-off water shut-off valve, unscrewed Water Line and caught water in a small pan. Loosened up 1 screw and removed valve, unplugged 2 electrical connections and bottom water line. I cut-off an inch of line and reinstalled the valve in reverse order. Plugged Refridgerator back in and instantly had water at Dispensor. Now the ice-cubes are normal size. Thank-you PartSelect.
