one of the lower crisper drawers had cracked and broke off a section of plastic that the drawer rides on the drawer slide.
I removed the old crisper drawer and replaced ir with the new one. The biggest problem was making sure I had ordered the right replacement part. Now I don't have to hear or experience the crisper drawer falling off the track and making that horrible sound while I try to push it back in lifting it just high enough to get back onto the track.
I popped out the old switch with a screwdriver pressing down the tab on the bottom and unplugged the terminals. Then I plugged in the new switch and popped back into the socket. Piece of cake!
Replaced dorr closure cam on both doors of side-by-side
The fridge door was easy. Just unscrew top and lift off hindge. The freezer door took longer. But I had the user guide which helped. We unhooked the power harness at the top of the door, and disconnected the water line at the bottom of the door.
Frankly, it wasn't that hard for me because I had my son-in-law do it!
Shelf rail broke up into pieces over a period of time
The right hand rail on the bottom rack on the freezer side of my side by side had broken into pieces over a period of time. I ordered and received a new rail from partselect and it came in about 10 days. I removed the rack and took out the two screws that held the rail on. I put the new rail on with the two screws and replaced the rack. It worked great.
Pulled out the broken crisper drawer and inserted the new one! Thanks so much for your rapid turn-around on my order. My wife was impressed at how quickly I resolved the issue. I'm definitely keeping your website in my favorites list.
The right door was sagging and the handles were rubbing together
First, remove the plastic cover off the top hinge by removing the single phillips head screw.
Removed the three hex-head screws holding the hinge to the body of the fridge and then lift the hinge off of the door.
Lift the door off the bottom hinge and place on a flat surface so you can easily access the bottom.
Remove the single hex-head screw from the center of the door part of the closure cam and pull it free. Install the new part.
Next, remove the bottom portion of the closure cam from the lower door hinge (still attached to the fridge) by removing the single hex-head screw. Install the new part.
If needed, lube the lower door hinge with Vaseline and carefully set the door back on. (This is the hard part if you are working alone, as it can be hard to line up the hole.)
Lube the top hinge, reinstall, and replace the plastic cover. Easy as 1, 2, 3.
I popped the switched out depressing the underside of the switch so that it could be removed. I ordered the part. Paid for normal shipping. Received an order confirmation. Received a shipping notification. Received the part the next morning. Open the part and attached the wires. Pushed the switch into the hole and the process was done in less than 24 hours. I couldn't have been more pleased. The actual installation took less than 30 seconds.
bins would not stay on track due to broken back tabs
I removed the old bins, making sure to get all the pieces that had broken from the back tabs where they slide into the upper support racks. The replacement bins slid in easily and work perfectly.
Remove the grandkids pictures from the door then empty the contents inside the door. Remove the top hinge cover and the top hinge bracket. Lift the door off the bottom pivot. Replace the lower cam by removing one screw. With the door in the horizontal position, remove and replace the upper cam. Apply a little grease on both cam surfaces. Align the door before tightening the top bracket and your done. If you did not take a picture of the door before you started the project you will have to rely on memory to arrange the pictures in the proper location.
The worst part was unloading the door shelves. Removed upper hinge cover and hinge hex screws. This allows the door to be removed. Lay the door on side. Remove screw that holds cam in place. Replace broken cam with new piece. Put the door back on the hinge pin and replace upper hinge screws and cover. Now reload all of the stuff.
Removed old light switch by prying up and out of housing...removed wires (carefully not to get shocked!) and taped to inside of refrigerator housing. Ordered best matching part and rec'd it in a couple of days. Took less than 5 minutes to remove taped wires from side of cabinet and connect to new switch (which was a perfect match to the original equipment) and snap switch back into refrigerator housing! Works perfectly! Thanks!
