WRS23W0AQ6 Westinghouse Refrigerator - Instructions

I removed the top door hinge, and then lifted the door off the bottom hinge. The bushing which helps close the door was completely worn away. I pulled out the left-over bushing parts, installed the new bushing I had ordered fro you, and reinstalled the door. It works perfectly now.

I followed the website instructions, step by step. The web instructions were great. Easy to understand. Complete. Do yourself a favor.... just follow the instructions off the web! Great service! I am so happy to have found Part Select and will recommend to my friends.

Ordered the part from PartSelect. Estimated time for slow delivery seven days. I got it in three. Removed the cover from the water and ice maker dispenser arena held on by three screes. I had to use an easy out on one rusted scree. Disconnected the wiring to the switches and lat the Circuit Board come forward by removing three small screws. Using tweezers to catch the screws, I removed two small screws holding the broken actuator and put the new one in its place making sure the spring was properly located and the ice maker swivel was under the hold-down strip along with the new actuator. I reassembled the door cover and got a drink of cold water. By the way, always unplug the refrigerator because that area is hot. Due to the nature of the support deisign and installation which was unusual I watched the video on how to extract the old broken support and install the new one, odering the new part was simple as the view privided in the parts section was specific and and easy choice to make, cost was very minimal and I received it the next day due to my being in close proximity to the shipping point, thank you and my crisper is very happy and so am I.

Removed the top hinge pin and lifted the door off the bottom pin. Removed and replaced the bottom defective parts and reinstalled the door. Reinstalled the top hinge pin which completed the project.

remove everything from door, remove plate and screws from top of refrigerator, disconnect water feed for ice maker underneath, remove door, be sure to remove any remnants of old parts, replace with new (i had to make a hole in the bearing for water feed, I may have ordered the wrong part, but it still worked, fridge side would not have water feed to worry about), put door back on, re-connect water, replace screws on top.........done.

I read other comments and most suggested the fix is less than five minutes and a couple tricks (push the remaining piece into the frig if you can't pull out with pliers)and I did exactly that. Parts came in 2 days, repair took 5 minutes - it took longer to open the package. My wife thinks I'm a star!

Have not really done the repair yet( frig is still to full of Thanksgiving leftovers) but I am sure that with the video that was provided by this site the job will be very simple. Many thanks to the person who put the video together.

I took the top door plate off lifted up the door and uncrewed the broken part and installed the new one. Lifted the door and placed post into bushing. Viola the door worked better than when it was new

1) Empty the refrigerator door (Good time to clean it too!)2)Take the cover plate off the top hinge. 3)Remove the two screws on the top hinge (Keep the door closed) 4) Oppen the door and lift up. It will lift out of the lower hinge. 5) Remove the screw from the door close plate and replace. 6)The door closure bearing is in a hole on the lower part of the door and is likely cracked in two. Remove the upper part from the door. You may have to remove the plate. 7) Replace the plate if needed and insert the new door bearing in the hole. It only fits one way due to the shape. 8) Complete steps 6 through 1 in reverse order. The whole thing takes 15 minutes. One person can do it. The door is very light.

Removed screw from upper plastic bearing cover, removed cover by sliding forward. Removed two screws that retained the upper bearing plate, pushing refrigerator door against refrigerator so as not to fall, slid upper bearing plate up and off. Lifted refrigerator door upward and away from refrigerator. Removed screw retaining lower bearing plate and had to remove door closing bearing from door by breaking with screw driver as part of bearing was broken and remained in the door. Re-installed new parts and re-assembled. Door works great and all parts fit perfectly.

I first removed the hinge cover at the top of the door. This allows the door to be lifted off of the bottom hinge. After removing the remnants of the broken part, I slipped the new door closure bearing in place. I reinstalled the door by sliding the door over the lower and upper hinges. Be careful to note that an additional part "door closure" may be necessary as in my case this was all one unit in the broken one.
