Watch the video first. 1.) To open dryer top- remove screws, it pulls forward and up, prop up lid. 2.) Unscrew door switch from front, watching which way it inserts. Screw in new switch same way. 3.) Use a tiny screw driver and loosen old switch plug all around edges- it then slips right off. Slide on new one and it will lock on the little lock tab. Make a note which color wire is on the pointed side of plug- mine was white and put new one on the same. 4.) Test and replace dryer top. FOUR EASY STEPS, 15 MINUTES REPAIR TIME, I RECEIVED MY PART FROM PART SELECT IN 2 DAYS= UNBELIEVABLE!!! EASY and YOU SAVE A FORTUNE!

I noticed the door switch handle was flopping back and forth--no longer was tight. I popped the top up and took out the screws holding the dryer vent to the top of the dryer, so I could put the top back out of the way. I disconnected the switch wiring harness which was on the top, right of the dryer sticking through to the dryer door. I pushed down on the tab that was holding the switch tight to the wiring harness. I wrote down the model number of the dryer and the part number. I ordered the part from partselect.com--this was the easiest part of the whole process! I thought initially I would not be able to find the identical switch I needed for the old dryer that I have. It took a couple of days to get the switch in the mail. I put the new switch in the same position as the old one was. I put the screws back in the dryer vent, popped down the top of the dryer, and plugged it back in. (I had already cleaned the dryer duct work--thought that might be why the dryer didn't start. Glad I cleaned the duct, but the cleaning did not fix the problem of getting the dryer started.

First of all, your operator was patient and courtious and extremely knowlegable. They knew right away what part was required. I watched a video on youtube describing the job. When the part arrived, on time, I just did what the video told me to do and in under 30 minutes the jobwas done and the dryer works perfectly. I'll be back for sure

My dryer had been continuing to run when I opened the door for a couple of months. Then one day after drying 3 loads it refused to start again for the fourth. I googled the problem and found some you tube videos for replacing the door switch. I was having trouble popping the top of the dryer open and one video had the key information to push the top forward from the back. Unplugging the old switch was a bit difficult, but plugging the new on in is easy. Put everything back together and my dryer works again.

I followed the instructions just like in the YouTube video. The video was awesome! Well lighted, good audio quality, and perfectly illustrated all the steps involved. I had already tried taking the switch out, but I couldn't figure out how to release the clips on the front. The putty knife was just right. I'll definitely be using you guys for any future appliance repairs!

Followed the youtube video and it was very helpful. The repair was very simple. Just remove the lint trap, then the two screws under there, then use the putty knife to pop the two front corner clips. Disconnect power before you do anything of course..... once its all disconnected, you will see the switch. 2 Screws hold it in and then it unclips. Reverse to reassemble.

The Door switch on my dryer broke which stopped the dryer from turning on.

I followed the video. Removed two screws by the lint filter, lifted up the 2 sides to the top of the dyer, removed the two screws by the door switch. It was that easy. The hard part came when I tried to remove the old switch that took the most time. I used the butter knife, since it was very flat I was able to lift it off. Put in the new switch, put all the parts back together again and it worked just fine. Thank you, PartSelect, I will come to you first. You saved me at least $150.00....
