Philips screwdriver Removed screw (1) Removed light bulb Put in new light bulb Closed door to bulb compartment Returned screw.
Pro tip! Check how many bulbs you need before ordering. Mine only needed two. I got two. I suspect I’ll buy a new microwave before new bulb burns out again. Ordering/delivery was fast. No need to have spare on hand.
first removed four screws lower panel, one motor screw, electrical connector, and reversed procedure done. To add a little to this repair story, we had a recall on our maytag dish washer, asked if at the same time they could bring a motor out for microwave, they said no without diag. time, also told them I'd pay for install, even if my diag. was wrong, and the part also, there lose! Thank you all having the correct parts at a very reasonable price.
After unplugging the microwave and removing the screw, I removed the old bulb and put in the new one!! I made sure it was in securely and the difference in the light was awesome! I use this light when I bake bread and let it rise inside the microwave, but DO NOT turn it on. The heat from this light helps the bread to rise properly!!
hardest part was taking the microwave down off of the wall to gain access to the diode. Thought if was the transformer but ended up being just a blown diode. remove and replace and bench test. that part took 15 minutes . moral of the story don't boil water under the side of the microwave that holds the electric components.
