Dryer door wouldn't stay closed
Took 2 screws out of the bottom of the dryer so the front face plate came off. This allowed access to the door latch catch, which was easy to pull out with pliers. Pushed in new latch catch until it "popped" into place. Easy, easy, easy!

Timer dial skirt was broken when electricians stashed tools atop dryer when rain forced a hiatus in buring underground cable.
My wife and I bickered for years, until warranty ran out.I tried household repairs, even substituted a vintsge radio dial. Finally, my wife said, "Why don't you search the Internet?

I Googled "Whirlpool Dryer Parts" and selected PartSelect.
Enterimng the part number, I reached a schematic. Clicking on the timer dial skirt, I was treated to a sound video of a repairman replacing the dial skirt. I fired off payement of about $11 for the part with UPS postage, and in about 3-4 days received it. After snapping the dial skirt onto its two companion parts, I pushed it onto the timer shaft, and the job was done.

White plastic timer dial skirt was broken at the shaft.
After browsing the internet for a replacement part, came upon your website with the super friendly repair man - making it look very easy to replace this part. The video answered all of my questions, and I was able to take apart the old dial - (although it helped to have an extra set of hands to lift off the gray rubber portion - while the other person was wrangling the white tabs inward with the screw driver) Once the new part came in (very quickly I might add) it took about 30 seconds to put everything back together. Thank you for the video, and the prompt service.

Intermittent Squealing sound ..Getting worse
First of all I looked at the Video, which made it a lot easier. I decided to replace both rollers, the idler pulley, the idler bracket, and the belt so I should be fixed for a while. Installing the parts was not that hard. When installing the drum turn it by hand to make sure their are no binds, this will also insure the belt is not twisted and the felt around the drum is installed correctly. The hardest thing was getting all the panels back together with the right screws. Use a small screwdriver to line up the holes. Parts Select resources on their web site make it easier for the handyman to complete this repair. Parts were in Stock, at a fair price, and received in two days on normal delivery. I will use you again and give you a 10 on your service....

Our Timer Knob Broke!
I knew if I called a repair place it would cost close to $90. To have the visit and then also at least another $20. 00 For a part when it was just a dryer knob! We tried diy stores and none of them will touch a brand. I was not sure if they came in one piece or more and other sites really didn't have diagrams that enlightened me. I got to this site and not only did they show me a better diagram, but also the specific part I needed. Then I watched the video which gave me more visual confirmation that it was the right part. So, instead of a maytag repair costing over $100. 00, It cost me $11. 00 (Including shipping)and the part came in two days!! I will definitely let this site help me with all my future repairs!!!

Excessive Noise from tumbler
Removed Front Panel, Filter/Drum Support and tumbler. Noted metal shavings inside cabinet on my right side. Found right front glide strip completely gone and left side deteriorated. Also spun rear drum rollers and noted noise and slight wobble on right side. Removed snap rings, washers and rollers and examined both shafts. No scoring noted so I cleaned them with mineral spirits. Used excellent website tools to rapidly identify parts needed and placed order. Parts arrived second day (w/ standard shipping option). Installed drum support wheels using new washers from kit (discarded old, thinner ones) and reused snap rings. Moving to front support, drilled out old rivets (4) from front glides with 1/4 inch bit. Inserted cork portion first followed by metal piece (I think it was teflon)and installed the rivets. Two observations here. First there were no instructions and, since my old guides were completely gone, I had to guess at the orientation. There is a pertruding tab on both pieces which I oriented to toward the drum. Once it is in its pretty obvious that the orientation is correct but you might ponder it for a minute or so. Second, one of my rivets didn't flatten out completely (probably operator error). I'm pretty sure there would have been plenty of clearance but I drilled it out and replaced it anyway. Bottton line, having a couple of extra rivets on hand might not be a bad idea. Reassembly is the reverse of disassembly. The biggest issue will be the drive belt. Since I have replaced mine before (twenty five years old and two kids with cloth diapers -- its had alot of use) I draped the belt over the back portion of the drum before I re-install the tumbler unit. Get a helper or a piece of wood to support the tumbler and then reach over the top to position the belt. Now the tough part -- especially if you have big hands like mine. You need to reach in and fish the belt onto the motor pulley and then the tensioner. It may take two or three trys but you'll get it. Then I loosely installed the front drum support. At this point rotate the drum by hand to position the belt and run your hand around the inside of the tumbler to check the felt seal front and back. Tighten the front drum support, reinstall the front panel and you are done.
Note. I chose to do everything from the front. There is a panel in the rear that will give you access to the motor. If you have the room and and can get easy access to the rear panel, it will make installing the belt easier. I don't so I chose to work everythig from the front. Timewise I suspect it is about even.
