drum not turning
I removed the front and the bulkheads as well as the drum. I replaced both wheels, the belt and the front and rear seals. The seals were definately the hardest part. I also cleaned the dust and lint out from inside the dyer and cleaned the outside, which is why it took me as long as it did. I also replaced the duct to the outside. It works as good as new.

replaced the worn tumbler belt
In addition to removing front of dryer, had to ultimately remove the access plate at rear of machine to thread the belt. Found aligning the belt to be a bit of a chore as the belt wanted to ride in the groove on the drum which didn't align with the motor pulley. Didn't have the correct wrench for the four sheet metal screws that held the rear plate and had to use pliers. Patience finally paid off and the machine is back in action.

Loud squealing when running.
I followed the directions in the package and the wonderful video tutorial that part select had posted for my appliance. My dryer was about 13 years old and had never been repaired. I opted to replace all the wheels (2 drum and one pulley for my machine) as well as the belt, and while the machine is taken apart, why not vacuum the interior. It went back together nicely. Parts cost: just under $100. Labor saved: about $175.

Lint filter has hole in it
I ordered a placement lint filter because the one had a hole in it allowing some of the lint to go thru it. This was the original one, so it has lasted a long time. I am hoping that the new filter will last now until the dryer gives out.The dryer was bought in 1996. Thanks Parts Select for the great service in sending me the new on and having one in stock. Thanks so much.

old filter falling apart with big holes
Replacing the old with new filter took about 5 seconds. The best part of this story was the shipping. I ordered the filter and to my surprise it arrived the next day from clear across the country. Best service from a supplier I've had in a long time. Will definitly call PartSelect the next time I need to repair something. Thank you.

Excessive noise
I assumed that the rollers were making all the noise. They actually seemed pretty good but I replaced them anyway. The idler pulley was completely separated from it's bearing & melted. The plastic fan blade was completely stripped out so I had to replace it. This is very dangerous because it meant that no air was moving thru the dryer. There was a threaded pin holding the blade on the shaft that my local parts dealer insisted did not exist. I wound up grinding that off before installing the new blade. Quiet as a mouse now!
