MDB7100AWB Maytag Dishwasher - Instructions

After viewing usless videos, I finally read other comments and discovered how easy it was to just twist the sprayer.

Changed float switch to no avail! Ladeled out the water. Disassembled the entire pump unit inside down to the motor shaft and checked all pieces for trouble. Could find nothing wrong. Now trying to determine if the problem is in the timer or motor.

Easiest ever. Recycled the old one and put the new in its place. We are trying to place the silverware in, rather than dropping it in. It was suggested in the video from this website.

Watched video, very helpful. Pulled dishwasher out a foot from counter, which was the most difficult part due to tight fit, carpet, and copper tube water connection. Once the washer was out it was easy to replace the linkage and while it was out did both sides.

I pulled out the dishwasher. Saw that a plastic part linking the door and spring was broken.I was able to ID the part easily on PartSelect. The part came quickly and was installed within 30 minutes. Dishwasher feels like new.

Found picture of the "stack" of pieces online. Decided to give it a try and started disassembling the parts. When looking for replacement parts, found the video @ PartSelect. Wish I had seen it before, but it confirmed I did everything right. It was refreshing to see a step by step instructional video, made everything look easy and it was! Replaced the part and followed the suggestions of the video about replacing the gasket as well and what parts to clean while working. Great help. Very pleaased with the speed of the whole process. Ordered the piece on Sunday, had it on my doorsteps on Tuesday!

The dishwasher would hang up after about 10-15 min. on auto wash. You could hear the control board click but the pump wouldn't start. Ran the diag. process and it came up turbitity sensor. Found one on e-bay (no longer available from parts houses)put it in and had the same problem, this time the error was low motor voltage. Found, from others talking about the same problem on the net, that there were two other things to look for. One is where the wires go out the bottom of the door. The way the machine is designed after time the door will start to cut through them. Taped up any cut wires and made sure the connection was still good. Second, check the back of the control board for cold or loose solder joints. I found two for sure that were cold and the pigtail was also loose. Re-soldered the connections and ran a full cycle with no problems. The solder connections were most likely the problem to begin with. Hope this helps.

I slid the dishwasher out about a foot and easly replaced the Door Spring Linkage. I took more time to remove and replace the screws than it did to replace the Door Spring Linkage. Very easy repair that anyone can do.

I watched the video when I ordered the part and then watched it again just before installing the door gasket. I pulled the existing gasket out of the channel. The air space inside the new and old gasket is triagular so make sure you take note which side of the gasket goes into the channel first(you'll understand when you see it). I wiped out the channel and gently fed the gasket into the dishwasher's channel with my fingers. Before I installed the new gasket the door latch closed with no resistance. Now I have to push the door in hard with my thumbs at the top of the door in the middle to get it to latch when I run the dishwasher. It all was so easy and there is not a drop of water leaking. The week before I ordered the door gasket I ordered and installed the tiny little gasket that seals the detergent door latch. I didn't realize anything was leaking at that time. The only reason it was discovered was because the detergent door wouldn't pop open to release the detergent and we were working on that issue. When taking the dishwasher door apart we noticed that the cardboard insulation was wet as well as the other insulation and could tell it was coming from the circular opening in the metal. We dried out the cardboard. Then cut off the bottom that had been wet. We cut a double thickness of cardboard to size from a large box. Then taped it on to the bottom of the piece that hadn'et gotten wet. It's important to have that cardboard intalled because it protects the outside of the door from getting dented as well as for sound. When the new little gasket was delivered we installed it and the detergent door worked fine again. We ran the dishwasher through a cycle and that's when we discovered that the door gasket was leaking. I wish I would have ordered both gaskets at the same time. If I would have read the postings on this website when I ordered the detergent door gasket, I would have ordered the door gasket. Oh well, everything worked out. I just spent an extra shipping charge. Still an enormous savings over hiring a Maytag repairman.

The hardest part was getting the lid back off. I had tried using the dihxeasher while waiting for the spring. Once I figured that out, it was fairly easy. Once I got the longer pin out, it was just a matter of figuring which way to put the spring in. Took me a few tries without the instructions

Following the instruction video, I removed the door panel and the inner cover to expose the door switch. I disconnected the wires from the switch and removed the switch from the door. I then removed the handle from the switch and installed it into the new switch housing along with the new switches that I purchased from Parts select. I installed the new switch assembly, replaced the inner cover and the door panel. The repair was easy and took about 20 minutes to complete.

We took the hoses off, cleaned all the hard water deposits and screens. The water would fill once but not a second time. We ordered the water valve and valve switch. We put the new water valve on and "miracle" it worked perfectly. We didn't need to replace switch. Let me tell you this is one happy housewife now. Ordering the parts on-line was very easy and they arrived as they said they would. Thanks for the great service.

Pulled out old gasket, checked to see which side faced the door, found the middle of the new gasket, started at top middle and pushed the gasket into place. Easy as pie!

Replaced The part. Picked up the old one and repurposed it in the work shop and dropped in the new one ...no tools needed. The real story here is that this web page existed and I was able to get the exact replacement part I needed delivered to my house.Piece of cake,
