First, I went to the "partselect" web site and searched for "loud noise". The web site listed the probable cause and had a video about how to remove the discharge pump housing. I removed the housing and found it in two pices. Ordered the part and received it in 2 days. I had to watch the video again to make sure I replaced the parts in the correct order. Wife is now happy and that makes me happy. Thanks to "Partselect" for your help.

I twice watched the 5 minute video on PartSelect on how to repair the Discharge Pump Housing. I disassembled as instructed. One thing I did that the video did not suggest is that I marked the alignment of all parts with a pencil before removing any screws. In the end it only mattered on the main housing that covers the filter. That has to be put back on the way it came off. The repair is complete and for under $50 the dishwasher is running great and quieter than I can ever remember.

This is almost a joke. It took 5 seconds to remove the old silverware basket by lifting it from the bottom Rack. Then I spent another 5 seconds to lower the new basket onto the lower rack of the dishwasher. I was a little miffed because the new basket did not match the photo on the Parts Select website, which photo seemed to match the old basket exactly. However it fits, and the wife likes the design of new one better than the old one.
