First of all, my husband thought for sure we would need to buy a new appliance. I was sure that because it was a good brand it should last so I looked online. How great to be able to order the part and get it so quickly! The only hard part was getting the old one off. We watched the video on the site and finally got it off and the new was a cinch to put on! Thank you for saving us lots of $ and allowing us to continue to use a very nice appliance!!

broken hard-rubber drive fitting on top of blender base motor shaft. It mates into splines on bottom of the blender beater head

The drive-fitting is cheap ($8-10), and easy to remove and replace without opening the motor case. EASY, but two key requirements: (1)hardware or box store should sell the thin wrench above. It must get under the drive fitting and slip into the thin 1/4" size wrench grooves of the round motor shaft. (2) Holding the wrench to keep shaft from rotating, you can use your hand or a pliers to grip the broken drive fitting and screw it off the shaft...but it is REVERSE THREADED (so turn it CLOCKWISE to loosen it). Then spin on the new fitting (reverse=counter clockwise), just finger tight is okay, because using the blender will tighten it fully.
