Googled how to replace the door seal, ordered parts and replaced the door seal flapper. The video on partselect was not correct for this GE model. However a simple diagran showed you simply remove the control panel directly (pops off) to provide access to the panel. Remove the 4 screws holding the panel, replace the door seal, and reassemble.

Watched the video and worked next to the laptop to pause it at every step. Ordered a new plastic locking nut with the auger. Good thing, because the old one cracked when the e-ring was pried off. Put the new auger in and returned the bucket to the freezer. Changed the water filter. Like magic the water dispenser worked again! Made sure the spring-arm moved after cubes were in the bucket. It was stiff. Popped it a few times to make sure the lever worked OK. After the bucket filled checked both ice functions. Cubes dropped right away, crusher worked after a couple tries. Releasing the plastic tabs was the hardest part. WATCH THE ENTIRE VIDEO, THEN FOLLOW THE STEPS IN ORDER. The ice and water are flowing again! Many thanks for a great how-to video!

I disassembled the housing surrounding the ice bucket auger and replaced the broken part with a new auger. I reassembled the housing, replaced the ice bucket, turned on the ice-maker and walla, back in business. A handy video on the web (site was mentioned in our receipt) would have been valuable to anyone without any mechanical skills.

I suggest to take apart the ice bucket first. I did not do that and ended up pay 3 times for shipping. Be sure to save the thrust washer and "E" retainer as you are required to by 12 of each. Partsselect should package a complete auger repair kit. Kit should have 1. Auger 2.Crusher cover (usually break with auger) 3. Nut, thrush washer and clip. would save the do it your selfer a lot of confusion.
