Freezer coils icing up and temperature warm
I had a frig several years ago do the same thing -- freezer coils icing up and temperature warm. I had watched the repairman come in and take the back off the freezer and install some part, I knew not what. So I got on YouTube and four this website with instructions and directions of how the put the part in and which part it was. I am good at trouble shooting and was very comfortable after watching the video of what to order. I ordered the part. The instructions were clear. After the coils had thawed, it took less than 30 minutes to install the new part. I installed a Defrost Heater. My refrigerator has worked ever since. I am not a mechanic nor a fixer upper. I am a 60 year old female school teacher.

Refrigerator and Freezer warming and cooling. Ice would melt and then refreeze. Freezer temp would warm to 25 then back to 0, refrig temp would warm to 50 then back to 34.
We first read that we should thoroughly clean the coils which we did. They were very dirty, full of dust. This seemed to help for a couple days then the hot and cold started up again and was even worse. We did some research on the internet and all indications led us to change the main control board. We found PartSelect ordered the part, received it super fast (within 2 days), changed the part in less than 15 mins and our refrigerator works like new. No trouble since the repair. Saved a lot of time and money doing the repair ourselves.

Ice shoot flapper door was sticking
Gentlemen,

Many thanks for the help in repairing my GE refrigerator. From the web site and videos, I determined the problem with the flapper on my ice maker was a bad solenoid. I ordered the part from you then followed the step by step instructions to install it. It made what seemed to be an intimidating job rather easy.

Thanks again,

Gary Schafer

The ice/water dispenser would leak water and sometimes not dispense water.
unplug, remove front selector button panel by gently pulling outward at bottom, unplus the 3 connectors on the back. Remove the 4 screws on the corners of the shoot/despenser structure. gently pull out the structure watching how the wires are routed. Unscrew the 3 solonoid screws hold the ice flap open and remove the solonoid/plunger set. Remove the right pivot holder plate and slide the ice door set to the right and remove. clean the mold build up with clorox and wipe dry. Assemble in reverse order paying attention to the way the return spring is placed on the ice door hinge. make sure the setup moves freely and can snap closed on it's own spring tension. route the wires in the same way they came from the factory, attach screws/wire connectors, pushon the front button plate and your done.
