Ice Maker Auger was broken
I watched the video provided by PartSelect.com a few times to familiarize myself with the steps of the auger replacement, which made installation much easier than attempting it blindly. PartSelect saved me $100 based on the price of a new replacement ice bucket!

Will not Defrost
The replacement went very well. The video was not just as the unit I have but with a little work I worked it out. The service was very good. I received the part in 1 Day. Thanks for the good info. Keep up the good work regarding the videos. This helped. Just for the info. I did a post mortem of the switch. The strain of the wires pulling on the switch caused the failure of the switch. The design of the old temp switch was bad and workmanship was very poor in the original box. Thanks again Ron

Refrigerator Too Warm
We used partselect troubleshooting appilication to figure out what was most likely causing the problem and what part would fix it. The suggested part was the freezer's defrost thermostat and the probability that this would fix it was 52%! The diagnosis made sense because when we emptied the freezer to see the part, the coils were frozen solid with a thick layer of ice. We thawed the ice and the refrigerator worked fine for a day and a half at which point the ice was back and the refrigerator was warm again. We ordered the part. It came in 2 days. We snipped two wires and removed the old part, twisted the wires of the new one in place, taped it up and it worked! Fast, easy, cheep! $8 For the part, about the same for shipping and no $70 service call. Selectparts is bookmarked for "house repair"!

Freezer temperature too high due to bad defroster
Watch all available videos and read numerous descriptions from others. Every appliance, even with the same model numbe, is not thesame, but all elements of internal construction were covered in different videos & instructions. What would have been straightforward and simple from the directions was made more difficult by the width of the freezer compartment and the ease of acces to the parts to be changed/repaired.

Auger Assembly was broken
Purchase the Ice Bucket and Auger Assembly, easy as one, two, three! WOW was I impressed, ordered on a Thursday early afternoon and it was here on Friday. Not only that, the associate I dealt with was fantastic and very helpful. I have this saved on my computer for any and all replacement parts for all my GE appliances. By the way, I have GE Frig, Double Ovens, Cook Top, Trash Compactor, etc. Additionally, I check the prices vs GE web site and saved $20 plus dollars. Not to mention I did not have to call GE and have a tech come out. Best company I have dealt with over the internet in 15 plus years. They need to train all these other companies on how to be customer friendly and proactive. PartSelect is my go to company from now on. Can not say enough about them. They are great!

Ice Dispenser Door Seal not sealing, frost in freezer
Googled how to replace the door seal, ordered parts and replaced the door seal flapper. The video on partselect was not correct for this GE model. However a simple diagran showed you simply remove the control panel directly (pops off) to provide access to the panel. Remove the 4 screws holding the panel, replace the door seal, and reassemble.

Ice door dispenser would not close on the freezer causing frost buildup on the inside and moster on the outside
I replaced ice dispenser solenoid which stuck due to the moisture causing it to rust I do recommend changing the rubber door flap also which allows the cold air to leak out therefore causing the solenoid to form rust
