I saw water on the floor and investigated to see that it was actually running down the side of the dishwasher. Further investigation and removeal of a cover on top shwoed the water was leaking from the hose that runs through the top of the dishwasher.
I looked on Part select at the model number of the dishwasher. I looked at the diagram of the diswassher and the hose. I read some of the repair stories. And became sure the upper hose was my problem and was armed with the ability now to fix my machine. Thanks PartSelect

Water Would Not Drain
Went on line to order new pump. Web site showed "parts which repaired this problem and nut and valve had very high % as the failed part". I then removed nut and valve and was able to see that it was worn as they described. This was a very easy repair and worked perfectly. It saved me from ordering a $60. 00 Pump which would not have fixed my problem. Thank you for a great help for the diys people.

Water remained in dishwasher after cycle.
Dishwasher is 22 years old and I'm 80 years old so it took longer, about 3 hours. After removing, turned upside down and removed old pump-motor assembly and replaced with new following directions [which took a little while to figure out; my assembly was quite a bit different from the replacement pump-motor]. Pleasantly surprised at how quiet the dishwasher now runs. Normally I would replace this old an appliance, but this unit has provision for inserting a wood panel that blends with the cabinets and a new GE dishwasher with this feature costs $1300 MSRP. I'm trying to save money for when I get old so I decided to do the repair myself. For $150 it was a worthwhile investment.

Two holes not tapped
Instead of purchasing a new dishwasher, I elected to replace the motor/pump assembly which the existing was noisy and leaking water. To start to took pictures of the existing assembly and marked the wiring connections. I read the instructions a few times until I fully understood and had the necessary parts identified. The only problem was the bracket that holds the solenoid has two holes for mounting the drain feedback bracket were not threaded. I was able to tap the holes (metric) and mount the bracket. Caution must taken not damage the solenoid coil.

Motor failure because of black power wire separation.
Dishwasher had flooded. Removed Dishwasher from cabinet and diagnosed problem. Found "PartSelect" on Internet and found Part kit available at reasonable price, in stock to ship immediately. Part #PS260801 [WD26x10013] contained enough parts to make installation easy and also I was able to cure discovery of slit in drain hose that attached to dishwasher drain outlet because kit included a short piece of hose and a hose clamp that allowed hose that had been trimmed to connect to outlet.

By GE dishwasher badly leaked under load. I was about to shop for new dishwasher ($400 ?) when I had found your website. With likely reason identified, inexpensive parts readily available and video instructions being very clear, I had decided to try to fix my dishwasher myself. Parts arrived on schedule and I had replaced my old corner baffles in 1 minute with no tools at all. It fixed the problem with my dishwasher with minimal trouble for me for less than $30. Thank you.

Immediately shut off water supply to the washer. Removed and replaced the valve, returned the washer to the upright position, pushed it back under the counter, reconnected all services, screws to counter and base panel, turned on the water and power.
