right-side door hinge was broken (completely)
Make sure to insert a solid screw/nail/metal rod approx. 2" long, into the hole in the original hinge (doing so will preclude the hinge from "slamming closed" against the oven opening frame; plus, it holds the hinges in an offset position which makes it easier to just slide the door upward and off the hinges.) NOTE: the replacement hinge will come with a retaining pin already in place that "holds" the hinge door shaft at about a 45% angle to the spring assembly. DO NOT REMOVE THE PIN until AFTER the door is remounted on the hinge. As mentioned, just grasp the door sides and lift the door upward to clear the hinges shafts. With the retaining screw/nail/rod still inserted, the hinges are easily managed. with the door removed, two screws each hinge will be exposed. they will are easily removed. after they are removed, one will be able to manipulate to remove the hinges assemblies from the oven body (no need to remove any other oven parts). After the old hinges are removed, just install the replacement hinges into the mounting cavities and secure the hinge mounting screws (two each hinge). Slide the door on to the two hinge shafts and remove the two retaining pins. Attempt to close the door. if the door does not fit properly (too high usually), then open the door enough to reinsert the retaining pins. Remove the door and adjust the two metal screws at the very tip of the hinge door shaft to get the door to fit properly (usually you will have to turn the screw in-I had to). Reinstall the door, remove the pins, and check the fitting, making sure the door fits properly. You are done! I needed a pair of vise grips to remove the broken piece of the door shaft that had broken off in the door mounting cavity.

Dropped cast iron pot broke switch shaft off
The video you provided was excellent! Turned the circuit breaker off. Removed four screws, pulled out control panel, took a picture of the wiring to be safe. Disconnected the wires from the damaged control and removed it (two screws removed). Mounted the new control, connected the wiring, replaced the control panel and the four screws. Circuit breaker back on, turn burner on. That's it. Thanks for the video!

broken interior window
Decided since the glass was broken I might as well replace the door seal. Getting the door off and on was the most difficult part of the process as the door hinge springs are quite strong. Remove screws on the hinge. Slide door off hinges. The hinges will close rather hard. Remove screws along the outside, then inside. Keep all the screws in some order as they are different sizes. More time to clean the door than actually installing the glass and seal. Re assemble. Trick to getting the door back on is to open the hinge spring to the broil position and place a thin screwdriver in an opening in each to keep in an open position. Slide door down to the srewdriver stop and then fully open. You can then slide the door fully onto the hinge, replace the hinge screws. Easy ,for a simple housewife.

surface burner stopped working. Was not heating up.
The repair only took me 10 minutes to do. I purchased the surface replacement kit from partselect.com. The part arrived in two days. The instructions were very simple. I read the instructions on line during my purchase. When I received the new part, I simply did the repair. Including shipping, the cost was less than $20.00. A service call would have been at least 5x the cost. Thank you for being there Partselect. (Tim from south bend indiana)

Needed to replace a burner switch for an inspection
I removed the cover plate for the burner switches and verified the wiring on the other switches. I had removed the bad switch a few years ago and I needed to make sure that the wiring was correct. I did not keep the original screws that hold the switch in place, because I destroyed them when I first removed the old switch. The were corroded from years of cleaning solution. I made new screws from longer wall socket screws by shortening them with a hacksaw. The entire process took about 30 minutes to do, and the results were good. The new switch is smoother than the others, but functions exactly the same.

The hinge broke and the oven would not close
We watched the video demo & followed it step by step. The project took about 35 minutes and we replaced the hinge on each side of the oven. First we removed the oven from the wall, then dismantled it & cleaned it thoroughly, removed the old hinges and replaced with new ones. the only problem we had was that the pin holding the hinge open was missing on one of the hinges, but we cut a nail and inserted it to hold the hinge open. The job was completed quickly, and the oven door fits and works well. Thanks for the video--it really helped us.
