Found PartSelect and easily found what was needed to replace this lint filter in my Maytag dryer. Maytag guys have moved away-and besides you can do more on this site. I was very pleased. Thank goodness they got rid of the felt inside this lint filter--that was the big problem. Thanks PartSelect--I will use you for all my maintenance.SDE3606AYW

Lean the dryer over on its back and loosen 2 screws on bottom front to allow plate to be lifted out. Access to fuse in back of inside.

I removed the front bottom panel then, using a flashlight, I located the heating element on the bottom left towards the back of the machine. I positioned a flashlight to illuminate the area and using the nutdriver removed 2 screws. I then was able to extract the element and bring it to the front of the machine. The fuse is also located on the element panel. I disconnected all the wires and connectors on the old panel and connected them to the new panel and reinstalled everything including adding the new fuse.

Pulled off front of dryer because it made loud noise, lifted clothing drum removed cover for fan and order from model number on fan and replaced. 30 min with help from my son.

just slid it in . fit perfectly. i wasnt sure what size to order so i called the number and the rep was very helpful. arrived in two days. perfect size. thank you so much.

I ordered the belt, which arrived really fast! Took dryer apart, removed old belt, replaced with new belt. The hardest part was remembering how to put the dryer back together! I think next time I will video the taking apart process so I can see how it goes back! This was the 2nd belt in about 18 years, the dryer works fine, and it sure is cheaper than a whole new dryer! Thanks for saving me money again! Really helps in these hard economic times!

I cann thank you guys enough. I am a mother of three and heavily into sports. Lots of clothes need to get washed and dried. On a Saturday morning drier breaks. Called the 800 number listed on my warrenty paper work which could not gurantee which part i was getting and if it was the correct one. after a busy weekend sunday evening my husband and i were working on it to determine what was wrong. we located the problem but the original 800 number was closed on weekends, I found part select on the internet and they were open late on sunday for the customer service. I spoke with an awesome rep that not only located the part but was able to give me the part number to look up on the website to match and make sure i ordered the correct part. I had it shipped 3-5 days and came on that tuesday before July 4th. three days earlier then expected. Part went in and drier was fix. Thank you sooooo much for the prompt and courtesy service we recieved. I will use and recommend this company to anyone.

We watched an online video on how to repair the drum support roller. While the dryer was dismantled, we decided to replace idler pulley wheel, belt and retaining ring. A new dryer would have cost at least $500. We spent about $80 total and the dryer runs like new!

Unpluged the power.. leaned the dryer up against the wall.. remover front panel (door) located element. removed the two screws on element.. wiggled & free the element.. removed switches from old element and replaced them onto new. installed new element with some difficulty.. then, I put the dryer back togather.. plugged it back in and hit start.. during this time, i had found other parts that needed replacing.. such as the tention pull (was wore down pretty) the belt was cracked.. replaced tention spring for safe measure.. placed order and received items in record time.

Replace with new latch.

1. pull bottom access panel. 2. pull front cover panel. 3. take two front bolts out of lid and flip it up out of the way. 4. reach under drum and remove the belt from pully 5. remove front drum support 6. pull drum off at this point is a good time to clean the inside of the drier, i know when i took mine apart there was lint every where so took 5 minutes to vacume it all out 7. Remove and replace drum supports 8. remove and replace idle pully 9. slide drum through belt and back on the back drum support making sure it's sitting on the drum support wheels 10. two ways i found you can put the front support back on and then reach back to put the belt on the pully, but i found its easier to have someone help and hold the front of the drum so the back stays in place then reach back put the belt on then put on the front support, also make sure that the front drum is sitting on the drum glides that are attached to the front support 11. just putt everything back lid first then front cover and final access panel

Pulled out the broken part than easily snapped the new part into place..

Disconnected the lint vent and exhaust duct from motor assembly. Removed belt and drum then took out motor. You have to disconnect the fly wheel and housing to swap out motor. Motor is secured to assembly by 2 clamps, remove and replace engine. From there go back the way you came. Make notes of any wiring that you disconnect (dryer door/cycling thermostat)to eliminate any guess work putting it back together. The dryer is put together by sheet metal screws, small socket wrench very helpful.I disassembled the front of dryer and removed the top.

I did a quick research online and found PartSelect to have the best price. I ordered my part on Monday 8/6 and to my tremendous surprise FedEx delivered it Tuesday 8/7!! I did not pay for overnight delivery. My son happened to come by that day and he took a small flathead screwdriver, pried the old one out and inserted the new part. Done in 5 minutes! PartSelect will be my supplier from now on.
