Getting only a trickle of hot water and a drip from the cold after cycle is done
I watched the video provided and followed the same steps in taking the washer cabinet off. The valve was very easy to replace and I took the opportunity to really clean and inspect everything. A little tricky to get back together but not bad. My 25 year old kenmore is working like a charm.

Washer didn't spin one day. Just made a clunking noise.
I first thought that the fan belt came off. Got the cloths out of machine, and tipped on over to look under, where I discovered that there was no fan belt. Looked online for answers, and found that machine was direct drive. Looked around under machine for something damaged or broke. Saw the direct drive coupling was cracked into three pieces. Ordered the part I was 95% sure I needed, and it was at my house in less than 48 hours. Watched a video on how to replace the direct drive coupling. This was amazing and easy to use information. Made me feel like a pro. The video covered everything you could imagine for the repair, step by step. Machine runs now as good as new.

Washing Machine would not agitate
There are 4 cogs that are in contact with a gear which slips in one direction and catches in the other direction as the agitator oscillates back and forth. Two of the cogs were broken and the agitator would no longer turn thus the cloths would not circulate properly through the wash and rinse cycles. The cogs (dogs), by some manufacture’s name, cost $3.83 and just over 10 dollars total including S&H.
There is also an excellent video on the PartSelect site which shows exactly how to remove the agitator, dismantle and then reassemble it. The cogs were simple to replace.
I would not have had the slightest idea how to do this without the video. My first thoughts, when I saw that the agitator wasn't working were A:Oh no I'm going to need to tear the washing machine completely apart to fix the problem or B:Replace the whole washing machine.....I'm sure there are many folks who would have just given up and used plan B. This is a great Website! I'm sure I'll be back here for other household repairs.

Water drains but tub does not spin
I chose to replace the Direct Drive Motor Coupling before replacing the lid switch because of cost and I like to see how things work. Hint: If the tub does not spin and water does drain, replace the lid switch first. That was the root problem. If you do replace the Direct Drive Motor Coupling, watch the video provided by PartSelect. The video saved hours of tinkering around. Follow the video instructions to the point of tipping the unit over to replace the coupling. There is about a quart of water in the unit even after the drain hose is removed. Either move the washer outside before doing the replacement or locate a sturdy pan to allow water to spill into as you tip the unit over. Lucky for me, there were some dirty towels waiting to be washed that were used to soak up the water. When you replace the coupling, tamp down the replacement piece that goes onto the transmission shaft with a large dowel and hammer. If the motor does not easily go back onto the shaft and you cannot turn the motor by hand, you need to tamp the replacement part down some more. The part ordered was correct and on-line instructions were very helpful.

agitator wouldn't agitate
Removed the outer & inner cap from the agitator.
Used a socket set with a very long extension to remove the bolt. Took out the old dog ears, put in the new ones reassembled and it worked. Very easy.

Agitator didn't pull laundry down.
We pulled the top of the agitator off. Unscrewed the screw in the middle of the agitator shaft. Pulled the section up where the cogs are located. Turned it upside down, replaced the old ones with the new, replaced the case that holds the cogs and carefully put it back onto the shaft. Screwed it down and popped the top back on.

Washer was leaking underneath
I tilted the washer back to gain access to the pump.
Using an adjustable wrench I squeezed the clips to remove the 2 hoses. Used a screwdriver to remove the clips holding the pump in. Removed the old pump, put the new one on. Put the clips on, attached the 2 hoses and using the wrench I put the clips back in place on the hoses. So simple!

Agitator no longer agitating
With the instructions from YouTube, this was a straight forward and simple repair.

The only issue was obtaining a socket wrench LONG enough to reach the nut in the mid-section of the agitator tower. A quick trip to Lowe's for a socket extension tool ($7) and the repair was easy done quickly.

I'm am NOT handy and was thrilled that I'd avoided the cost of a handyman and that I'd completed the job without breaking anything else!

The correct parts were delivered by PartSelect quickly and were inexpensive.

worn out water pump
I took two screws that held the entire washer together. Then I released two clips and two spring hose clamps and pulled the pump off the motor shaft. I reversed the above procedure to install the new pump. I was washing clothes within 15 minutes.
