Machine would not stop filling on the super load.
The installation of the Water Inlet Valve itself was a breeze. However, removing the back panel of the machine was what took so much time. It looks like a few screws and off it comes, right? NOT SO!! There are various clips and two brass hangers that are a real pain to get to. My advice is to contact Whirlpool and get instructions on removing the back panel before you start. PS: the machine works great! Thanks for the service.

The washer was slow would not go into the spin cycle..
All I had to do was follow the instructions on your web site and it was pretty easy.. The only reason it took so long was because my washer is in a spot hard to get to... I had to remove the dryer to get to the washer and then take it out of the laundry room to work on it. Other than the time it took to do that the actual repair only took 40 minutes. Your video of the repair was excellent... Thanks so much.. Saved at least $500 by replacing the clutch...

The plastic pump got hot & melted at the connection of the motor shaft.
I undid the connections in order to pull the machine out & laid it on it's back. The pump has two hose connections that require pliers to remove & reinstall. The pump is held in place with two metal "clips" that can be loosened with a screw driver. Then install in reverse order. I live in Yuma, Az. where we have salty water. I belive the problem was caused by wth water evaporating & leaving the dry salt to act like sand & create the heat to melt the plastic.

Lid Switch Assembly broke
Just the way I found via the Internet. However, I was more impressed that this site HAD the part for something so old and that it got it to me in 4 days. VERY IMPRESSED! Saved me over $100 in service fees.

Cold water had stopped flowing into our washer tub -- hot was fine -- and we checked the hoses to see they weren't clogged.
The PartSelect DIY video made this repair so incredibly easy that even my not-super-handy husband and I were able to do it in about 15 minutes. (And I mostly watched because it doesn't require two people at all.) Every single step that was possibly needed was explained. We actually got the repair right on the first try -- no cussing, no bickering, nothing but a working washing machine in a quarter of an hour. In our book, DIY doesn't get any easier than this. We'll definitely be back for any parts our other old appliances need, and we won't be afraid to try future repairs ourselves. Saved a bundle!

Old Betsy lost her roar after 20 years of use, the top portion of the agitator stopped turning.
1. Asked the hubby to fix it. He said "I don't see what the problem is, how can I fix it if I don't know for sure if it is even broken?" I assured him that I do the laundry and the top piece is supposed to turn.
2. Typed my problem (the one with the washer, not the hubby) into Google. Found copious amounts of info. regarding my problem and how to fix it.
3. Ordered the necessary parts on this wonderful website.
4. Followed the directions of a friendly southern man on 'YouTube' and Batta Bing, Batta Boom - Ol' Betsy is roaring away again, just a churning my clothes in there - getttin' the job done.

Machine drained water, but would not spin
Took off the machine cover. Took off the water pump. Took off the motor. Removed the old coupler and replaced with new one. The new one has a metal inner lining which is a much snugger fit than the old plastic one. I used the handle of the nut driver, placed inbetween the prongs of the coupler, and a hammer to tap the coupler into place where the coupler is flush with the end of the shaft. If the coupler is not flush it will cause the machine to smoke and heat up the motor during the agitation cycle. That was the only problem I encountered and had to take it back apart and re-position the coupler.

Replace water inlet valve
After my son received a repair quote of $130, I decided to help him and do the repair myself. I have replaced inlet valves before and ordered the part ($30) from partselect.com. I received the part in less than 2 days via regular FedEx. I used the Partselect installation video (very accurate) to familiarize myself on accessing the defective part. The job took less than 30 minutes. Unfortunately, it also took me another 30 minutes to clean out all the dust bunnies residing under, in, and in back of the washer.

Top agitator was not turning
Followed directions in video. Very easy. Only extra note of caution, you will need a long socket extension or several you can couple together. The bolt that has to be loosened is at the bottom of the agitator neck. About 12 inches deep.
