Ice maker stopped working
After watching a YouTube video I was able to determine that my ice sensor was working properly. I was getting water through the door dispenser so I decided to pull the icemaker. First I removed the 2 hex head screws holding the ice door which gave me access to the icemaker. I removed the hex head screw holding the electrical plug cover on the bottom right side and removed it. I then pushed up on a plastic tab on the bottom left side of the ice maker and slid the icemaker out so I could access the electrical connection. After unplugging the electrical harness(plug/socket) I completely removed the icemaker from the freezer. The white square end cover easily pulled off the icemaker exposing the control and motor assembly. After removing the 3 screws holding the assembly on I pulled the assembly off the end of the icemaker. Installation was as simple as assembling the parts in reverse order making sure that the ice delivery male shaft "flat" mated with the "flat" on the motor drive female socket. After reassembly I went for a bike ride and when I returned about 3 hrs. later I was happy to see my icemaker was making ice again. This is actually easier than it sounds if you have any mechanical apptitude whatsoever.

Ice maker stop making ice cubes.
I saw the question listed on your website with your recommended part to repair. Instead of ordering a whole new ice maker I took the chance and ordered the recommended part for repair. I saw the video and when the part came it was really easy to replace. I only wish I had found your website earlier and not gone without ice for as long as I did. Thanks.

Ice Door Leaking Air Into Freezer
Followed the lead of david from chesterfield in prying off out cover, unplugging it and setting it aside. Unscrewed and pulled out next assemply, and taped it above work area to avoid having to unplug. The pried pulled out pin to right holding ice door hinge to remove old unit. (Notice which way the spring faces before removing!) unplugged it. Ended up taking off push-dispenser handle (one screw on right) to get easier access. Then reinserted long pin being careful to have spring with two long tongs pointing down. Then put everything back together. Use all parts!

Ice not dropping from ice maker
First I watched the video on how to do it, then I tried it. First I disconnected the electrical. Then 2 screws in the front. Opened the front and disconnected the electrical wires that are all color coated. Took out unit and replaced it with new one. Put the unit back and was finished. Thanks for the help with the video.

ice maker not making ice
My ice maker stopped producing ice after our refridgerator was accidently turned off for 4 days. Note: the on off switch in the front does turn the unit off even though the light stays on, why we need easy access to turn off the fridge is beyond me. Regardless, I spent way more time researching the problem then doing the repair. There is 2 things that could be wrong: 1 was the infra red light located on either side of the freezer, called the transmitter/reciever. 2 was the side of the ice maker control panel. Either one or if I had to replace both it would of been less then the cost of a repair man to come to my home. Prices here a good. I started with learning the diagnostic of the ice make which is learned by watching the red light flash. That informed me that it was working ok. Reference: if you hold back the hinged plate and pretend the door is shut the light should flash, flash, pause. This means its working. I went with the other route of the control module on the ice maker. This part came fast like 2 days. I watched the video on the parts web page and it was simple to do. You do have to wait until the temp goes down below 15 degrees in order for the ice maker to kick in. I won't buy another kenmore for I have had plenty of trouble with this one and its bearly 6 years old. I'm Definetly a fan of this website. Good luck DIY ers!

ice maker quit making ice
I looked on line to see repair instruction videos on my refrigerator ice maker. When I saw how easy I went to PartSelect and order the part (control and motor assembly). I received the part in two days with the cheapest shipping option. My 33 yr old son was visiting when the delivery was made. After we opened the box, he went to the basement for tools and the rest is history. 10 minutes work and ice a couple of hours later! No problems since.

Both the freezer and bottom of refrig too hot
Was very simple once I found out where the defrost timer was located. I had a friend walking me through trying to find the location on the phone. Not all models have them in the same place. Once the part was located all I had to do was remove the cover, unplug the old one and plug the new one in just the way the old one came off. The black wire was easy to locate on the old and just matched it up. Put the cover back on and plugged it in. It was no time till I started feeling it cool. Checked both top and bottom with thermomater and it was where it should be within 12 hours. I am happy and using it again. Was almost ready to throw it out. Did not know it was so cheap to fix one. Nothing anyone can't handle. If this woman can do it anyone can.

The nut on the motor that turns the augor in the ice maker had striped the treads.
I would not have attempted the repairs without your instruction. I use a Drimel tool with a abravise blade to cut the part off the shaft. After I realized the Drimel tool would work. It took me parhaps 10 minutes to get it off the shaft. I had already ordered the new part and the job was complete. Thanks for the help. Ron Burch

The Ice Cube Maker Tray Would Not Refill With Water
Ps328747 icemaker and water dispenser dual inlet valve was purchased from parts select. My wife, sandy, watched install video provided by parts select on their website. Sandy used plywood to protect our hard wood floor. She pulled out the refrigerator (she did need my help to do this task). Unplugged the refrigerator. I turned off water line in the basement. Sandy followed the video to the tee. Fifteen minutes later the part was installed. The ice maker tray was quickly filled with water. Ice cubes quickly were made. My wife is uniquely talented. Last winter, she remodeled two bathrooms in our naples home replacing all the fixtures, vanities, flooring, etc. My wife can do almost any task. Many years ago, I had a leaking radiator and a broken arm at the same time. What did she do--she removed the radiator from the car, took it the repair, and reinstalled the repaired radiator. Sandy plays tennis, golf, brige, hikes, sings in the church choir, works at theater as a red coat, and at 62 years of age, she tackled another item on her bucket list in january 2012. Sandy's first recital is saturday--she is quiet an accomplished pianist already. I could relate many other stories about her but the most important one is that this beautiful woman has been wife for 43 years and the mother of our two beautiful daughters, jessica and holly.
