Water leaking from under spray arm. Spray arm was rising from the water pressure and not spraying the dishes.
Took apart the top of the spray arm(left hand thread). Removed a phillips head screw and imediatley it dropped down into the pump. Tried retrieving it with a magnet.. Unscrewed the rest of the spray arm post from the tub. This could not let me see the lost screw and also the nylon piece that anchors the post in place dropped down towards the pump. Rigged the shop vac and some 5/16 plastic tubing to suck most of the water from the pump.Disconnected the power, drain and water supply and pulled the unit out and laid it on it's back. Grabbed some towels to soak up the water from somewhere!! I loosened the hose clamps on the pump assembly and found the missing stainless steel screw. After examining the new part I decided it was not the right part. That spray arm assembly has to be for a newer model. Mine is 25 yrs old. I used bungie cords to hold the door open while the dishwasher was on its back. I had a plastic drinkig cup that just fit in rubber collar that held that nylon piece. I forced it up into place and screwed the lower part of the post on inside the tub. I stood the machine back upright and finished assembling the spray arm. The parts on top had about 5/16 in of movement that let the water leak into the tub and not go throught the spray arm. Found a plastic washer that fit just right. I blocked the holes that screw might fall thruogh with small pieces of rags. Got back together and reinstalled the dishwasher under the counter. It worked fine for about 2 weeks. On May 6th I found the tub full of water after a washing cycle. After trouble shooting it showed a worn out timer. The local ACE Hardware sells dish washers of several different brands. The new Frigidaire arrived Tuesday the 9th and I installed it. I had saved the sound suppressing blanket from the old unit and put it on the new one. I still have that new part here.

REPLACE 2 THE ROLLER WHEELS THAT WERE BROKE.THEY JUST POPPED ON AND YOU JUST POP THE STOPPER BACK IN.
THE CHANNEL LOCKS WERE USED THE UNSCREW THE LOWER SPRAY ARM TOWER.ONCE IT STARTED,ALL I HAD TO DO WAS REACH IN AND FINISH UNSCREWING IT WITH MY HAND THEN SCREW THE OTHER BACK IN.I HAD MY HUSBAND TO MAKE SURE IT WAS SNUG AFTER I DID IT.
MY HUSBAND CHANGED THE DRAIN PUMP HOUSING BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT HE DID.ALL I KNOW IS IT DIDN'T TAKE VERY LONG FOR HIM TO DO IT.

Spray arm was detatched from base assembly unit. Cracked tabs.
I took out the sliding dish basket from the bottom of the washer. Set aside. I pulled the detached (broken) spray arm out and trashed it. Next, I unscrewed the base mount from the bottom of the tub basin. Once this was removed, I simply screwed in the new unit.

It's important to know that the spray arm and mount come connected in the new part altogether as one part. Which is how it is when it's not broken. When it's broken, there are two disconnected parts. Both broken parts are discarded.

By screwing in the replacement part, you now have both parts, as one, properly affixed to the dishwasher.

I saw the video said a strap could be used to dislodge the base mount. I was able to remove mine by hand, but it did take a couple strong torques. If you can managed to remove it by hand, then no tools are required for this job. Otherwise, you'll need some help unscrewing the base mount part.

I ran a wash cycle last night and I'm back online baby! Clean dishes. Daddy doesn't have to wash them by hand any longer!

center tower cracked at base
The expandable tower would slip out of the base of the spray arm due to a crack in the plastic, removing the lower spray arm with tower is easy, simply turn counter-clockwise. keep in mind the material is plastic and can't be horsed. If a leak develops, simply tighten by hand (in a clockwise direction) as it has not seated properly. Job takes a few minutes to complete.

Dishes not getting clean
Unscrew the part from the dishwasher and screw the new part in. A previous post recommended a screwdriver for leverage if the part was on tight. Great advice!

The top rack dishes does not get clean. I can hear the water running and the arm rotating when running.

Hi Portia, thank you for your question. You may want to double check that your filters and tubing are all clean and free of clogs. If that is the case, take a look at your water inlet valve to make sure it is filling the dishwasher with enough water. If that part is fine then you may have to look at your pump for being the issue. Good luck with your repair.
