Hello Laura, thank you for your question. This is a repair you can do yourself. First unplug the washer and turn off both the hot and cold water. Remove the hoses from the washer. Remove the top panel of the washer. Locate the hoses attached to the water valve and squeeze the hose clamps together with pliers to remove. If the hoses are on tight you may have to twist them to break the suction and pry or push them a little with a flat head screwdriver. Once it budges you can take them off with needle nose pliers. Attach the hoses and hose clamps to the new valve. Remove the wire harness from the old valve. You can push it loose with a flathead screwdriver. Take a picture of where the wires go before removing them. Be sure to connect them in the same place on the new valve. If they're hard to get off you can pry them off with pliers by the connectors. Do not pull the wires. Remove the mounting screws holding the valve on and remove the valve. Put the new valve into the holes and replace the screws. Reconnect the wires and replace the top panel.
