Concerning part number w10270395: Does this vale unit come with new water line seals? Can i just get new water line seals? My valve works okay, it just has a leak at the outlet line connection. Also, what is the procedure on disconnecting the two water lines from the valve unit? Thanks for any help.
For model number mfx2571xem2

Hello Gary, thank you for your question. Unfortunately, the valve is only available as an assembly. This is called a new quick connect valve. If the old valve has nuts that hold the line into the unit you cut the nuts off the end of the line, and remove the old valve. Install the new valve, and just take the lines and push them into the corresponding ports. To remove the lines, you depress the circular tab around the tube and pull the tube out. I hope this helps!

Water leaking from the bottom of ice maker i turned off the ice maker leak stopped i can still dispense water with out no problems any ideas what could be wrong
For model number KFIL27CXMS3

Hi George, thank you for your question. There are two parts that you should check for this issue. The first part to test would be your water inlet valve. The valve has two solenoids that control either the dispenser or the ice maker. Even if your dispenser is working the ice maker solenoid may not be and vise versa. The valve can be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 500 - 1500 ohms of resistance. If that part is testing correctly then you should look into your ice maker being the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Water out of wall has high pressure. But extremely slow after going through valve. Does the inlet valve usually malfunction
For model number Mfx257ixem0
PartSelect logo
Hi Joseph, thank you for contacting us. Yes, the water inlet valve usually gets faulty. If the water pressure is sufficient, check for clogs in the filter screens in the water inlet valve, which can block water flow. This is a common reason water inlet valves fail, and it is the easiest problem to remedy. Use a flashlight to look inside each of the two hose fitting ports on the water inlet valve, part number PS11751526. There should be a screen inside the port, carefully clean the screens if they are dirty. If screens are clean, use a multimeter to determine if the valve has failed electronically. You should test each valve coil for continuity, which will indicate whether a continuous electronic path is present. If it is faulty, you will need to replace it. We hope this is helpful!

ice maker has condensation and water spots on the front/bottom of teh ice maker. I sometimes have to stick my hand inside to press down on the ice maker arms to release, because it feels like it frozen
For model number KFIL27CXMS1
PartSelect logo
Hi James, Thank you for your question. If the ice maker is frosting up due to condensation forming on it and the ice maker is not releasing the ice, there are some things you will need to check. If you have hard water, scale may build up on the evaporator plate over time and will make it harder for the ice maker to release the ice. Also, if the controls that monitor the bin are not working correctly or there is something blocking the sensor, the ice maker will continue to make ice. Also check the water lines to see if they are clogged. If you have any questions, please let us know. We are open 7 days a week. We look forward to hearing from you!

I have no ice and very slow water. Will this help?
For model number GI7FVCXWY01

Hi Terry, Thank you for your question. If your ice maker is not making ice and and there is a small amount of water coming from the dispenser, you may have a clog in the water lines or in the water filter. Check the lines to see if they are fitted correctly and that they are not cracked or damaged. If the lines are frozen, you will need to defrost the refrigerator. If it has been more than 6 months since you replaced the water filter, it is likely clogged and will need to be replaced. If the lines and the water filter are fine, check the water inlet valve for signs of damage, cracks and leaks. If the valve shows none of these signs, you will need to test it with a multimeter for continuity. Before performing this test, unplug the refrigerator and turn the water off. With a multimeter in Rx1 mode, touch the terminals with the probes. If the water inlet valve is working correctly, it should put off a reading of 200 to 500 ohms. If you receive any other reading, you need a replacement water inlet valve. We hope this helps! If you have any questions, please let us know.

Hi there, my water dispenser was leaking/dripping water and was told to replace the water inlet valve. I recently changed the water inlet valve, however, it looks like the water dispenser is dripping water often. I’ve tried to dispense liters of water to remove excess air but nothing has changed. What may be the problem? Thanks for your help

Hello there, to follow up with the previous question. The model # of my fridge is kfis27cxms2. The water dispenser continuously drips/leaks water. I have replaced the water inlet valve, however, it looks like the water dispenser continuous to drip. I’ve tried to dispense liters of water to remove excess air but continuous to leak. What may be the problem? Thanks for your help
For model number KFIS27CXMS2

Hi Bob, Thank you for your question. If your dispenser is leaking water and the water inlet valve is fine, check the water tubing for any cracks or tears. If it damaged, then water will leak from the dispenser and it will need to be replaced. You should also check the ice door and chute module, the actuator pads, the spigot and the dispenser control panel and electronic control board to see if they are working correctly. We hope this helps! If you have any questions, please let us know.

Have a drip leak in the water inlet that fills the ice tray which causes a terrible build up of ice that drip by drip freezes inside the icemaker compartment. I can turn the ice maker off and the water inlet still drips. The only way I have found to stop the drip is to turn the water off going to the frig which of course stops the water dispenser. Should note also that when dispensing a specified amount of water (say 7 oz.) it seems as though the measuring would dispense less than 7 oz. Not sure where the valve is located but could this be the culprit?

Hi Scott, thank you for the question. Based on the description you have provided, the issue could be with the water inlet valve, part number PS11751526. It supplies water to the ice maker and water dispenser in the refrigerator. It is located in the ice maker section. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope that helps!
