What is the resistance for the temperature control thermistor?
For model number MDG4658AWW

Hello Henry, Thanks for your question. This thermistor has a resistance of 10k ohms at room temperature, plus or minus 10 percent. I hope this helps.

I have a Maytag Neptune gas drying center. It will start, run, and heat up for several minutes (approximately 30 minutes). Then it will shut off for 2 or 3 minutes, and then turn back on again and run for 3 5 minutes, shut off again and repeat. Any ideas what it could be?
For model number MCG8000AWW

Hello Dan, Thank you for the question. This sounds like it could be over heating and then stopping to cool down before restarting again. There are a few parts you can test with a multi meter to see if they are defective. The Thermal Fuse, Temperature Control Thermistor and the Thermister. We hope this helps.

The dryer shuts off and flashes 'HP'. Is it the thermistor faulty?
For model number MCG8000AWW Rev 10
PartSelect logo
Hi Brian, Thank you for your inquiry. If your dryer is shutting off too soon, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the coils, the radiant flame sensor, the door catch and strike, the temperature control thermistor, the belt and the drive motor. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Hello Wintet, Thank you for your inquiry. We would recommend checking the following parts to fix your issue: the thermal fuse, the dryer belt, the door catch kit, the door switch, the drive motor, the control board and the blower wheel. You can test the thermal fuse, door switch, motor and control board with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, there are YouTube videos available to assist you. Hope this helps!

Hello and thank you for writing. It certainly sounds like it could be a faulty or loose belt PS346995 and/or possibly a faulty door catch PS2162263, you should check the part(s) for signs of damage, and replace as necessary. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.
