WRT571SMYF00 Whirlpool Refrigerator - Instructions

This repair sounds really simple because it requires simply removing one screw at the bottom and loosening two at the top of the icemaker .This is the third icemaker I have put in my Whirlpool refrigerator .They last about 3 years .All you need is a quarter inch nut driver but the amount of twisting you have to do and the tight quarters make this job difficult .I take the bottom screw out and loosen the top two ,then pull and twist the icemaker off the screws Everything is by feel .Put a large pan under the icemaker to catch the screws if you drop them .The harness is short so plugging it in and getting it on the screws is hard .

Searched internet until I found a company(yours) with the part needed. Could not locate locally refrigerator too old. After finding"Part Select" site I watched the video provided. It was very instructive and helpful. I cancelled calling any repair service and did the repair myself. The part was delivered fast and I had no problems with the repair. Your confirmation e-mail of part being shipped again provided the video for the repair. I only watched again after the repair to check myself, all went well. My Ice maker is working great again and I consider this purchase money well spent. I was considering another refrigerator but will now keep the Kitchen aid longer, Thank you.

Just removed old ice maker which took about 2 minutes. installed new ice maker in about two minutes. Simple and easy install.

Replaced the start relay in about 5 minutes and plugged the fridge in and it started working. Easy repair to get fridge working again.

Removed the ice maker (3 screws) removed the back plate (2 screws) Remove the bracket holding the fan in (2 screws) Remove the rubber mounts on the old motor and the fan itself off the old motor. Then put it all back together in reverse order.

unplug, turn water off, remove ice maker & unplug,remove back panel remove old fan unit & unplug remove fan remove fan blades just pull off install new fan, put fan blades on new fan & install on bracket & re install plug in re install back panel. plug in ice maker re install ice maker . turn water back on plug refrigerator back in ( quite easy )

I removed the 3 screws but also removed the front screw of the left bin rail. This gave more room to maneuver I/M into position. The cover shown with the enclosed instructions does not show an Ice Plus (blower assy.). By removing the two mounting clips fron old unit and snapping on new one blower unit fits as original. Overall a very simple and quick repair. Note: None of the cables Inclosed were used as my harness does not unplug from wall. Thanks for the quick service PartsSelect.

Turned off circuit breaker. That turns off both power and water. No need to move refrigerator. I backed out the 2 top screws about a quarter inch and then removed bottom screw with a quarter inch nut driver. I then lifted Ice Maker clear of the two top screws and lowered it enough to unclip the power connection. The new Ice Maker was wired correctly for my refrigerator so all I had to do was reconnect the power connection and mount new Ice Maker on the two top screws and install the bottom screw. It took about two hours for the new Ice Maker to start it's cycle but after it did, it worked GREAT. Part Select service was OUTSTANDING, ordered part one day and received it in two days and I live in a very remote location. Recommend PartSelect to everyone.

I followed the video on the web site. Easy squeezy.

Should have. . . . Just taken the ice maker out in the first place . . . . When I saw no ice I assumed the timer was bad. . . Replaced it. . Then when that didn't fix it again assumed that water valve was bad. . . . Replace that also to no avail. . . . Finally took out the ice maker and saw that the heater had stopped working cuz there was still ice stuck in it. . Replaced ice maker. . . All good. . . The water valve I replaced was a good thing cuz you can definatley tell the difference. . . . Anyway. . . Fixed!

Online I learned how to diagnose the problem and order the part I needed. Replacement was simple and now we have ice. It works perfect, no adjustments needed.

Spent six hours melting the ice berg, twenty minutes cleaning things up and ten minutes replacing the ice maker. The video was great the only piece of information that was missing was a statement that it may that several hours for ice to be produced.
