This is a shut off arm for the ice maker in a refrigerator. When the shut off arm has reached maximum height, it triggers the switch to shut off the ice maker so it does not continue to make ice until the level of ice in the ice bucket begins to drop. The ice maker can also be shut off by lifting the shut off arm past the maximum height and into the locked position. This part is made of metal, and measures approximately 9 inches wide and 4 inches tall. This is an OEM replacement part.

The ice maker arm no longer stays up, therefore the ice machine constantly makes ice. Will a new arm fix this problem?
For model number KTRC22EMBT
Hi Kathryn, Thank you for the question. If there is no damage to the ice maker where the arm hooks into, then replacing the arm should fix the issue. Hope this helps!

i do not have my ice maker hooked up. I think something fell into the on/off arm. I have been trying to get the end closest to door back in. Not sure how to fix. I have a picture from inside I could send. Im afraid i could damage something if the maker is not shutting off.
For model number M1TXEMMWW02
Hi John, thank you for your inquiry. Based on the description, we would suggest checking the icemaker mounting screws if it is in place. If that is not the case, then you may have a broken ice mold, part number PS11749915. We would recommend replacing the ice mold to fix the issue. Good luck with your repair!
