WRS3R3EW1 Westinghouse Refrigerator - Instructions

I watched a "how to repair" video on PartSelect. Everything went just as described until I realized that the actuator I was replacing had two tiny lights with wires attached. Perhaps I ordered the wrong part but it looked like the part I ordered would still fit but just not have the lights. I really didn't think it was necessary to have lights so I used scissors and clipped the wires so I could remove the old actuator. Then I continued to follow the directions in the video and now I have a perfectly functioning water dispenser. My husband was so proud of me! One additional tip- I found it was helpful to use a flashlight so I could see really well.

Replaced ice maker - easy to replace but it did not fix the problem.

Remove 4 screws to get the housing cover off. Remove the lock ring that holds the ice auger in place. REmove 4 screws to get the crusher housing off. Reverse the order to replace the housing. Very simple.

Had a little trouble getting old pin out of support bracket finally used screwdriver and broke plastic so I could get to the pin and used needle nose pliers to remove hanger then came right out putting new one in was a snap slid in tapped pin in and installed new crisper bracket took about 15to 20 minutes to complete.Contribute difficulty in removing pin to age of refrigerator had been in place for at least 5 years maybe longer overall experience not bad.I am 75 would probably been easier for a younger man more flexible.

first replaced dual solenoid, then ice maker. still not working. going to chase electrical next

Pulled fridge away from wall and unplugged. Turned off main water supply feed and removed fitting from water inlet valve. Took off back panel by removing 3 screws. Took out 2 screws holding valve to fridge. Pulled off color coded wire clips. Unscrewed each water tube connector. New valve had quick connectors so had to snip off flared ends of tubing with utility knife. Pushed tubing firmly into new valve fittings and pulled to ensure connection. Reattached wiring and reattached valve to fridge with the 2 screws. Reconnected water feed line and turned on main water feed. Checked for leaks before replacing back panel. Done. No more dripping from water dispenser.

It went okay. My husband did the job and he is handy. We both watched the little "How to" video and that was very helpful.

Had one other person, so putting the door back was easier. Repair went as told. Could do it myself.

Loosened the two screws on the side wall, disconnected the old unit. Reverse the order for installation. There is a small bracket at the botton that helps level the unit. Be sure to remove that bracket and put it on the new one.

Had to pry the old one from the cabinet. Had to work remaining piece evenly as to not crack the cabinet of the fridge. Not the best design on Frigidaire's part but it was fixable. Thanks for stocking every part under the sun.

I simply pulled out the ice container and auger assembly and,after washing the new one, Iput the new one in and it worked immediately. It couldn't have been any simpler.

Initially, I traced the noise down to the evaporator motor area. I thought it was the fan blade so I ordered and changed it. Noise level better but still not good. Then I ivestigated problem area again. Removed the motor,discoverd that the motor shaft was loose /drifting which caused the "hummm" and uneven fan blade rotation. Orderd and installed new motor and all is good.
