RVM1625SJ01 Hotpoint Microwave - Instructions

The vent grille simply went into place (door open) and I put in the two screws that hold it in place. For the two light fixtures, I had to remove five screws and let the hinged bottom plate on the underside of the microwave drop down. That provided access to both light fixtures. One screw to remove and each fixture (a socket really) unplugs and the new one goes in its place - along with a new lamp. It was fairly intuitive.

Very easy to replace the light socket. Unscrew screws under microwave to lower the base. remove screw at rear of light socket. Unplug power to socket. Plug wire into new socket. Replace new socket into base and replace serew. Hold base plate up to microwave and replace all screws. Do yourself a favor, if replacing one of the lights, go ahead and do both. Shipping cost is the same for 1 or 2 bulb sockets.

SOOOOO simple. Ordered drive motor. Unplug microwave. Take off bottom plate, 6 screws. Unplug wiring from motor. Unscrew drive motor. Replace with new one. Screw on, plug to wiring, screw plate back in place, plug in microwave. Walla!!! It works great.

Installation of the damper was effortless but removing the microwave, cutting holes vertically through an overhead cabinet then installing ducting with a ninety degree bend, through another cabinet, and then through outside wall consumed most of the time and effort.Your service, packaging, and timely (next day!) were extremely helpful.

Remove bottom plate of microwave. Remove old drive (one screw) replace with new motor and replace bottom plate.

This is the second time this happened for me. The shaft for the Coupler breaks and will no longer let the plate turn. I looked at the instructions of letting the bottom of the microwave down, etc. and all I could think of is I don't think so. I used the tweezers to try to get the broken piece of the coupler but neither time was it intact. Could not locate the broken part so took the liberty of just putting the new part on the shaft, pushed down and viola I now have a turning table again. I am an 83 age female who likes to try being a do-it-your selfer. Of course there are times I am not successful but. . .By thinking back of why this part keeps breaking I think it may be my fault. I always turn the glass plate around manually when the handle of the cup or mug is out of reach. May be my fault and maybe not. Anyway this time I ordered 2 of the same parts just for future repair hopefully not needed. V.J.

Once we noticed the turntable not working I removed the piece and noticed it was broken at the base of the coupler, took a vacuum and removed the broken piece and installed the new part. Thanks for the help!

Fist I removed the 5 screws under the microwave. Then I dropped the panel and accessed the socket. I removed the socket by removing the one screw and disconnecting the wires. Replaced the wires on the new socket, installed the new bulb and reattached with the screw. replaced the panel with the 5 screws and I was done. Easy

Opened the microwave oven door, unscrewed two screws which held the control panel on, then I removed two of the door switches (each had two screws), and then used the continuity tester to see which one was not operating. It turned out to be the secondary door switch, replaced it and to my amazement, the microwave worked. I have never repaired an appliance before but I didn't want to replace our over-the-stove built in microwave. It was the best day ever when it was working again! The hardest part was getting myself to try the repair.

simply remove broken coupler and install new coupler. no tools required.

I stupidly called the appliance repairman to fix the vent grill, he quoted me 278 dollars to order part and install it. I said it's a plastic piece, I thought maybe 150 bucks to fix it. He said, the part is more than 150. I said no, and suddenly it dawned on me to look for the part myself, not sure why it took me this long to figure that out, anyways, I found the part on this site for 98 and dollars, screwed it in my self and voila! All fixed, I was so happy and so glad I told that guy NO! I will do what I can on my own from now on!

damper plate was a snap-in part. rotated fan discharge to top of microwave. installed ducting to discharge food odors outside.

Watched How to repair a Microwave that turns on when the door is opened Video on the web. From this took a shot at the switch was the problem. When I removed the switch it was defective. The small button was in and when you turned the switch upside down the button would drop back into position. Ordered a switch for $25.oo , installed it and the microwave is working fine.

Piece just snapped in place. Little issue with two screws holding the grill in place lining up (note replacement scrfews are sold separately). Must be careful with the plastic while getting the screws secured. Otherwise the order was quick and correct.

Unplug appliance, Staring from the rear sides, remove the four side screws. Remove the left and right front screws and finally the front center screw. The bottom panel hinges down toward the rear . Unplug the input wires from the sockets . Unscrew the two retainer screws (one each) and pull the sockets out of the panel. Note that the retainer screws are shouldered. The shoulder fits through the elongated slot in the socket. Screw the bulb into the socket and insert through the mounting hole. Insert and tighten the mounting screws. Note that the sockets may appear to be a bit loose. That's OK because of the shouldered screw. Don't over tighten or you risk stripping the threads of the panel. Plug in the input sockets and install the panel screws in the reverse order of removal. Plug the appliance in and test the bulbs.
