Grill needed replacing - it literally fell apart
The grill is located on the top of the microwave - above the door. The plastic seems to have just deteriorated - the plastic around the screws just cracked. There was also another crack on the side of the grill assembly. The micrawave is fairly new (4 years old) and we don't use any harsh cleaners on the plastic grill because it has never required it. The unit is also vented to the outside - so it doesn't get exposed to alot of heat. To put on the new grill - it took 5 minutes, two small phillips head screws. My only question is why did the plastic just fall apart

The grille on my microwave was broken
It couldn't have been easier...two screws out, two screws in. Thanks to PartSelect the grille was available and they delivered it quickly. This saved me hundreds of dollars to buy and have a new built-in microwave installed.

The grill on my microwave "cooked" off from the screws
I removed the two screws that were still attached to the microwave. With the new grill, I replaced the screws and the problem was resolved.

Through holes for grille broke apart
I lined up the new grille's tabs on the microwave's holes, carefully pushed it into place, secured it with the two small screws I had saved and badda bing, badda boom, done and done. Perfect fit, looks great. Couldn't have been easier. Thanks. GE wanted over a hundred dollars for the same part.

Broken grill
All I did was remove the broken grill and replaced with the new grill. It took a screwdriver and two screws. It looks 100% better.
Thank you
