Spinner fell off of delivery tube.
Wrap your pliers in some kind of padding so you don't damage the plastic. Spin the base ( not the spinner itself) which is left-threaded(normal). If the gasket doesn't fall out (mine did) pull it out gently. Clean the gasket socket with a rough cloth or scotch-brite pad and install the new one. Put it all back together and wash dishes, man.

The upper spray arm broke off & dropped onto the heating element during the wash cycle & melted in half.
When the upper spray arm broke, I thought it might a a costly repair. Thanks to this website, I found other people with the same problem. I ordered the part (by looking at the dishwasher diagram). It came in abt 3 days. All I had to do was screw it into place. That was it! No tools! It was awesome. When my husband came home from work that day, I was able to tell him, I fixed the dishwasher! No more washing dishes by hand for me! Thank you so much for everyone's feedfback on this site & to Part Select for being here.

spray arm fell out
simply unscrewed the old one by hand, screwed the new one on - took about 30 seconds. There is a plastic gasket inside the part that broke - it holds the spray arm in place and allows it to spin - the gasket is what wore out. easy / cheap fix. Don't call a repairman.
