MGC5430ADQ Maytag Cooktop - Instructions

1. Grab the old burner and twist counter-clockwise. 2. Unplug the wire from the old igniter, simply pull off. 3. Take new burner/igniter (this new one comes all-in-one) and reattach the wire to the igniter underneath. 4. Place the burner so the 'nubs' line up with the stove top and then twist clockwise a short amount, it should turn slightly to lock in place. 5. Test. Mine sparked and started better than it has since i have had the stove

USED CHANNELOCK PLIERS TO ROTATE BURNER COUNTER-CLOCKWISE. PULLED OFF THE CONNECTORS, APPLIED RUST TREATMENT TO THE REPLACEMENT PART, WHICH HAD ITSELF STARTED TO CORRODE. SPADE LUGS ON THE OLD PART HAD A SPADE ADAPTER, BUT THE CONNECTION SEEMED TO WORK REGARDLESS OF THE MISS-MATCH. PART WAS REPLACED, TURNING THE BURNER CLOCK-WISE. VERY QUICK AND EASY REPAIR.

Turned burner about 1/16 turn to left. Lifted burner from stove. Disconnected two wire connectors. Connected same wires to new burner. Set burner in place and turned 1/16 turn to right. Tested burner. Lighter worked on first attempt and burned perfectly. Took about 3 1/2 minutes.

It was a very easy repair. I just connected the two wires to the bottom of the electrode and set the burner on stove top and turned it to the right to lock in place. Turned burner knob on and burner worked great.

First I did was to google the problem I have. There several video how to solve the problem. It show me different ways to solve my problem. I just follow the instructions. Thank to google without it, I am lost. I may add, that google is a big saver for me.

I replace the igniter first that didn’t work so I had to order the wiring and then I replaced that there was a cover that I took off with a screwdriver took the wiring off and put the new wiring in it it was that easy.

I was looking at replacing the stove and saw the $1200.00 price tag! So I found this web site and paid $100.00 to fix my old one. It was very simple. I twisted off the old burners by sliding off the two connecting wires. Cleaned the area around the seating area of the burners. Hooked the wires on the new burners and twisted them back in place! Tested them to insure that was the problem and was done! Thank you for saving me $1100.00!!! Next I am getting grates so the whole stove will look band new!

Turn off power then turn to take old burner out ,
disconect 2 wire , .
Connect electric wire with new burner press in then turn and clock . Turn power on then start stove
and check .

Remove existing burner twist and lift out dscount wiring connect wirig set new burner in opening and twist.

replace burner-had to hit old burn with rubber mallet to break off grease and took old burner off-two wires were connected to it..put those on new burner and was done--have a little problem--flame is lower now than it was-but it turns on

Very easy. I disconnected the original burner with one turn as well as the two wire connections for the electronic igniter. I then connected the wires to the same positions on the new burner and placed the new burner in place with one half turn to match the indented openings to secure the burner tightly in place.

find the part (image is really helpful), buy, and replace. Like I said, it's really easy.

Our handyman took off the burner caps and checked after we reported smelling gas. We ordered the replacements here, and they arrived by only the 2nd business day, instead of 3-5 as expected. The only hard part was scouring off the rust, with SOS pads, from the stove top before putting on the new burner caps (a simple plug-in)!! This is very important to check on your stove; you could blow-up your house! The gas was escaping under the old burner cap, through the rusted-out portions.

The malfunctioning burner was easy to remove by twisting it a quarter turn counter clockwise, removing the two wires and replacing it with the new burner cap with electrode.

Removed and replaced old burner. ck'd ok.
