broken ignitor insulation; repeated sparking after burner lit
Disconnected gas & electric connections; lifted unit out of countertop onto padded table upside down. Unscrewed ~16 sheet metal screws for access. Removed bad ignitor by driving off retaining clip. Had to remove burner (3 screws) for access to install retaining clip on new ignitor. Reassembled, reinstalled. Works like new!
Removed the two screws that hold the back glass in place. Rotated old bulb out of it's lamp fixture and replaced it with the new bulb. Replaced glass and reinstalled the screws. The hardest part was finding the bulb ... a very unique 18W flourescent. I wasted a couple of hours trying to locate it locally at my regular suppliers. The order at PatsSelect was easy and direct and the bulb was on my doorstep 3 days later .. an exact fit. Thanks guys.
My stove had been taking an increasingly long time to warm up, and then would eventually would not warm up more than 315 degrees.
I researched the problem on the internet, and all of the data led me to believe I had a bad igniter. My husband and I viewed a youtube video about installing a new one, and then I read step by step instructions on another site. We thought we would be able to easily do this ourselves, so we ordered the part from PartSelect, and I received the part within a couple of days. After taking the back off the stove, and the pan off the bottom of the oven, we attached a string and pulled through the old wires, and then attached the new wires on the igniter and pulled them to the back of the stove and connected them. The part was exactly what we needed, and now the stove works like it did when it was brand new! I was very happy with the results! MEF
After removing the back of the stove, the old light socket was fairly easy to remove. The new socket slipped in place and the wires reattached and now the oven has a light again. A very simple process--especially for someone who's not an expert in repairing appliances.
oven drawer would not slide...because of worn out nylon roller.............
removed the worn out roller...inserted the new roller....tightened the nut...it was finished...this was without a doubt the most pleasent repair from start to finish..only took 3 days from the time i orderded the part to completing the repair...i would advise anyone to use " partselect.com" without hesitation
Everything worked perfectly---thanks to the suggestion of your call center agent. She suggested that since the replacement door handles were no longer available, I should consider repainting them--it worked like a charm. Please tell her she was a life saver. We rent that house in Fl and my returning tenants had complained about the discoloring refer handles. Thank you
Original bumper pads NOT glued into the burner grates. Hence they began to disappear during routine use and cleaning. Very simple repair with a little glue this time around. But fairly expensive for a very small part set
lift oven door off of stove lay on towel on floor unscrew bottom screws,two(2)top screws remove oven glass face remove interior metal panel, lift fiberglass out, remove five(5)screws lift out outer& inner glass frame, romove broken glass, lay in new glass. Then reverse directions. NOT BAD AT ALL>
Had already removed back covers and disconntedted power. When io received parts I replaced them in reverse oder I had removed them. Took me longer to replace back covers because of my bad diabetic hands. Thanks very much, yopu savbed me a bunch. God bless you and yours, god bless america.
There were two screws holding the igniter in place but one was stripped and had to be cut off with the Dremel tool. Then it was a matter of removing 3 screws from the back of the oven and disconnecting the two wires to the igniter. The description for the igniter implies that there will be screws but I supplied my own to finish the job.
Been looking for grate pads for 10 years and finally found you site and part # WPL 814323. Wasn't sure that they would fit but couldn't even find new grates so decide to try them --Fit perfect. Kitchen aide stove top gas with round grates. Used the drill to clean out the holes with broken pads still embedded. With clean holes the new pads just screwed in like the originals. Thank you very much
