I ordered a new crisper drawer from PartSelect over the internet one morning at approximately 10:00am, and the product was delivered, non-express delivery, the next day at about 4:pm. The front coverplate of the old crisper came off easily, and snapped into place on the new drawer easily. The entire repair/replacement took less than 5 minutes.
Service from PartSelect, from locating, to ordering, to rceiving the part could not have been simpler or more efficient. A 5 star experience.Thank you.

Based on other feedback, it sounded like a bad valve. I ordered it from Part Select and received it the next day. I am in NO WAY handy, but it took about 5 min to change using the instructions. Not bad considering I spent $33 on the part and I was quoted $280 by the authorized repair center.

Mold Ice Heating Element Broken

  • Difficulty: Easy

  • Tools Required: Nutdriver, Screw drivers, Socket set

Looking at the ice maker it is pretty cut & dried as to how to remove the unit. I took out the ice tray and just started removing all the mounting screws. The same for the mold ice tray & heating element. I was just sad that you did not have just the heating element separate from the mold ice tray.

Defrost thermostat failed causing ice build up

  • Customer: Gwen from Vista, CA
  • Difficulty: Really Easy

  • Tools Required: Nutdriver

Once I figured out where the part was located it was quite simple. I thawed out the freezer first. Using a nut driver, I removed all the screws to the back panel of freezer. Squeezed the clips on the ice maker attachment to release the panel. Once I opened the panel the thermostat was visible and accessible. The failed thermostat was obvious by its bulging appearance. By following the instructions found on Partselect.com, I cut the two connecting wires and removed the failed part. I then striped some insulator from the wires to connect the new part. I used electrical tape to ensure connection and insulation as the white wire connectors did not work well (too big) for my application. Closed everything back up, plugged in refer and all was good. A little time and a $20 part saved me $150. Thanks Part Select!

Plied off the relay switch with a screw driver. I could not pull it off by hand. Disconnected the wires to it and replaced with new part. Had problem getting the part back on and lining up the pins with the connector. I had to line up one pin and start at an angle and roll the part onto the contact pins.
I was impressed with the one day delivery without paying because it was shipped from a warehouse in California where the repair was made.

You will need a Nutdriver a 1/4" size and a philips screwdriver, I'm a young woman, It was easy find the pc. I need here since I lost my manual, in this particular piece the inside part is not included the tab that controls the tempeture, you will have to use the same from the broken one, snap off all and carefully remove it from the insideout of the broken piece to intall it in the replacement, make sure you remember how its going back, that was the hard part of all the repair! after that it was easy as 1, 2, 3!!! have fun!!
