JMV8000ADW Jenn-Air Microwave - Instructions

The problem I have with changing the bulb is my microwave is an overhead one and therefore I cannot tip it on its side to easily replace the bulb. I have to drop the lid down and carefully install the new bulb from underneath.

Removed the glass cover and replaced the bulb. Very simple.

The repair guy quoted $85 plus parts. It looked like there was no way for me to access the screws and change out the handle mysself, but after looking at the blow-up diagram on the Parts-Select web site I saw that the piece covering the screws was meant to be gently popped off at several specific points, which I could plainly see on the diagram. With this knowledge I was able to replace the handle at cost, completely omitting the $85 for a repairman. Thanks Parts-Select!

Ordered new outer plastic handle and tightened the handle.

I didn't do the repair -- my husband did, said it was easy, had no problems what so ever! The new bulbs give a lot more light to the cooking area.

Replaced light bulb.

removed grill cover, removed bulb plate, unscrew bulb, screw new bulb in socket,put bulb cover back on and screw grill cover back on. no issues whatsoever.

hardest part was taking the microwave down off of the wall to gain access to the diode. Thought if was the transformer but ended up being just a blown diode. remove and replace and bench test. that part took 15 minutes . moral of the story don't boil water under the side of the microwave that holds the electric components.
