Knobs on the new JennAir Range I just purchased started to melt and when they were called they did nothing about it. I had to call and get new knobs at my cost.
Very easy, just removed the old ones and the new ones just clicked on.
First reviewed other review on this repair. Disconnected ignitor system from electrical source (pulled plug); removed 2 screws holding casing in place; removed it from the cooktop; & removed additional screw holding ignitor. Replaced ignitor and reversed the process. Done.
I removed the old knob and replaced with a new one from the plastic package. Biggest challenge: opening the new plastic package. It if very nice to know you have many of the parts I will need over the next 20 years.
Removed two star screws from the top of the burner, disconnected the wire going to the Ignitor, removed the old ignitor held in with one phillips screw, installed new ignitor and re-installed the burner assembly. Simple!
First I removed the old damaged knobs by pulling upward on the knobs. Then I replaced the damaged knobs with the new knobs being careful to align the male and female connection. After installation I tested each burner for proper operation. As a final test, I asked my wife for her opinion. We're happy!
Take out 2 T15 torx screws. Lift burner assembly, disconnect igniter. Make sure wire does not return into hole. I put A paperclip on it. Connect new burner assembly. Clean under old burner. Install burner assembly with screws. Test burner. Voila!
Once I got over my first time jitters this was easy. Lucky for me the old screws went back in just fine. The recommended 8/18 x 3/8 screws were way to small to be usable. Check the length of your existing screws if you can before purchasing the recommended ones.
Knobs for the cooktop burners did not fit so I have returned them and still do not have use of all burners due to lack of knobs
Could not put a square peg into a round hole....parts did not fit and I do not know how to find the model number but the knob has two flat sides.l....the knobs you sent did not.
