HED4300TQ0 Magic Chef Dryer - Instructions

Disconnect back of dryer gas/elec then I unscrewed the back panel, and chisel the panel off with a hammer and a old wood chisel to remove the welds spots, changed out the thermostat and I had to use tap screws to put back panel

i replaced both the high limit and cycling thermostats because cost was not that much and these thermostats change settings as they age. After replacing the thermostats the problem was solved.

turned off circuit breaker to dryer. pulled out from wall and turned.had to remove vent tube to facilitate moving the unit.took off back panel with socket.popped connecting wires off old hi-limit thermostat. took off old hi-limit thermostat, put on new one.reattached connecting wires.(they clip in and out.) screwed back panel on.turned unit back into position, popping vent tube back into unit.flipped circuit breaker back on.IT WORKED! didn't need to replace thermal cut-off, that was still working, but came in a kit with the thermostat.the worst part was diagnosing the problem and figuring out how to use the multi-function meter i had on hand.such a good feeling to fix it yourself and pretty inexpensively!part arrived 2 days after ordered!helpful to have 2 people to move dryer,hold pieces,hold back panel in place when reattaching.but could be done by one person.

unplug,disconect vent, remove the back, use the ohm meter test the thermal cut-off , test the heating element, test heat limit switch. ( that now comes as part of the cut off kit ) I tested the cycling thermostat but did not know the values so i ordered it as well. Did not need it after compairing the old to the new. every thing should show compleat circut except the cycling thermo's two center contact that should be around 8000 ohm. very easy repair and recieved the parts in two days. Unplugged the power cord. Removed two screws on lint vent , used putty knife to release clips to raise top at front of unit. Disconnected the plug from front door switch. Laid dryer on its back. Removed two screws to remove front including the door. Vacuumed lint from inside unit. Installed belt temporarily using two pieces of masking tape to hold it in place while properly routing the belt. Gave the tub a full turn to insure alignment.. Reinstalled the front of unit with the two screws. Righted the unit and snapped down the top. Replaced the two lint vent screws. Plugged it back in and done! Piece of cake!

Once I watched a YouTube video showing me how to do the job I ordered the part from you. Am so impressed with your fast shipping and best prices via the Internet. Thank you SO much! The water level switch was easy to install, it ws getting the cover on the washer back on that was hard for me since I am 68 yrs old and have a bad knee. Its why it took me two hours to do what most people could do in 20 minutes.

I unplugged the dyer remove the back and took out the part and replaced it with the new one done !Thanks to your video I watch on the enternet.thank you so much

I unplugged dryer. Took the top back plate off. Removed the dial and the screw on the front. Removed the two screws from the back and pulled the timer out. Pulled wires off one at a time and put them on the new time in the exact place and screwed it in. Put the screw and front plate on and plugged dryer in and checked it. It worked. Unplugged dryer again and put back plate back on. Done

we received the two heating element wires in 3 days and connected the heating element with no problem works great.

I wasn't sure which part was the problem, but the PartSelect web site is very helpful suggesting likely parts for various problems. I ordered two parts from PartSelect - a Cycling Thermostat and a Thermal Cut-Off Kit. Each of the two parts had an installation video available on the PartSelect web site. I followed the video instructions for each part. Very easy to follow, no problems at all with installation, problem with dryer is now solved. I might add I was amazed how quickly the parts arrived after I ordered from PartSelect. Parts arrived 2nd day after placing order. I would not hesitate to use PartSelect for any future needs.

I watched the video. Thermostat wasn't the problem tho. It was the timer.

should have bought and used a voltmeter first. replaced heating element and fuse and other thermostat before I got a voltmeter and realized it was the cycling thermostat that was bad. easy after that
