Iced up Freezer compartment in SxS
So I replaced a burnt out defrost heater; replaced the thermostat for good measure and STILL the freezer compartment was freezing up. WHY didn't I look more closely at the ice making system sooner!!?? Thought about it for a while and decided that it had to be that the solenoid in the water valve was NOT shutting off water flow to ice maker (overflowing the icemaker and running over & down interior of freezer compartment making an icberg).

Took off about 4-5 backcover screws with one size nut driver. Moved to a size larger driver to remove 1 screw holding on the water valve. And what some people don't realize is that you can push in the connectors (push them down) and THEN pull the water lines out as long as you're careful and someone hasn't already tugged on the waterlines with some force. You don't have to cut the lines off at the valve. Put the water lines in the new valve and put one screw back in it; then 4-5 backcover screws and you're done!!! At most 15 minutes...that is if you want to clean the condensor unit located behind the backcover (on the newer models within the last 4-6 years).

EASY!!! Do it yourself and save a BUNCH of money. If you're getting a flooded freezer compartment or icebergs created in there then check whenever you hear the icemaker drawing in water and see if water is running down the interior.....problem solved!

Water collecting under vegetable tray
Very easy to install. Simply follow the hoses to the end. One ends under the freezer door in front. The other requires you to take the back panel off the fridge - then its right there. There is a blue valve where it connects. Pull back on the white ring at the top of the blue valve and the old tube will release. Then you can just pull the old water tank out and thread the new tubes through. Connect the same way and you disconnected.

Water Leak in vegetable Drawers
shut off water supply to unit, pull the unit out, unplug, unscrew lower back cover, locate valve relay unit (bottom left, black and clear hose coming out of it) undo the quick connect for the clear water hose on the right (black one is for ice).

front of the unit, bottom left, locate the other hose (longer one) running to the freezer door from under the unit, undo quick connect.

Inside unit, remove middle drawers, careful with the glass panels as these just lay on top and are not fixed.

undo the 3 screws for the old tank, pull it out, snake the hoses thru the grommet on the bottom, reverse process...all set!

Light in the refrigerator went out
After I bought what I thought I needed for the repair. I asked a friend to come over and look at it. He changed the
the light socket and put the same light bulb in and it works great. I am returning the light switch but decided to keep the light bulb.

Getting on the internet was so easy. This was really very simple. Thank you for making what I thought would be a big ordeal into something very simple.

By following the instructions in the manual that went with it, I used the parts in the order that the instructions said. Factory ice maker was running water out of the fridge onto the floor.
My wife and I decided to tackle this job on a Saturday. The fridge was due for a good cleaning anyway. We pulled it out and shut off the water to the ice maker.
I took out the old ice maker, (two screws and the plug) Then went to the back of the fridge. removed the cardboard cover at the bottom of the frigdge and took the mounting screw out of the water valve. I had a double valve for the no longer working in-door water so I made sure to identify Then installed the new water valve. Note: be sure to check your connections for leaks before mounting the water valve - it is easier to see and fix them !!!! You can leave the water on at this point because the icemaker and water valve will not operate until the icemaker is plugged in. Next choose the right water fill cup, and install the ice maker to the existing screw mounts and plug in the connector. Note: be sure the ice maker is turned off. Start the fridge, let it get cold, then turn on the icemaker.
Overall this is a great multi install package - Don't worry about extra parts because you will have some. If we would have just needed to do the icemaker and not clean the fridge, I could have done it in about an hour.
Overall I would highly recommend this package vs what is available at other retailers for more money. Best Buy has a bargain replacement icemaker but does not have the versatility and completeness of this product. I give this product 5 stars.... dm
