Water running in freezer compartment
Original equipment valve ran from 2003 to 2010 until a mouse got on top of valve and did a number. Valve purchased in 2010 (installed to solve the same water flow problem occuring in 2012) was installed. I constructed a small tin shield over the valve unit in 2010 to protect the top of the valve from future possible damage. Two years later, the valve failed again - water flowing in freezer. (These Chineese replacement parts should really last longer than two years - I feel they insure future sales by making them poorly) - Both times, the outlet tube above the ice maker was completely iced up and a good deal of time was spent with a hair dryer to melt this ice. (This ice problem can be observed by looking across top of freezer compartment to observe the water outlet area. Turn off water supply and unplug fridge. Four screws were removed to get to the ice maker and then two top screws were removed to pull out ice maker unit (I left hose attached and unit hanging with some support) When installing the double valve, I blew on the loose water tube going up to the ice maker to be sure it was ice free. Taking the old double valve unit out was simple, just remember to press in on the plastic structure around the plastic tubes before pulling out the water tubes. Reattach electrical connections. Press the plastic tubes in as far as they will go for a water tight connection. Reinstall water supply hose and tighten nut. With ice melted, reinstall ice maker with two screws and the front ice maker panel with four screws. Plug in the fridge, turn on the water and you should have ice again as soon as the freezer gets down to 15 degrees.

The plastic blades on the auger were broke
I watched the video online that related to the parts that I needed to repair. I used a putty knife to insert between the sides of the housing unit to be able to remove it. That was probably the most difficult step. The auger came right out and I was able to replace it with the new one. Of course, reassembly was much easier.

Howling/groaning noise from fan in rear of freezer
I decided to replace motor and fan, having previously altered/trimmed the fan which stopped the howling but caused a vibration. Unplug from mains. Clear out two top shelves in freezer. Remove light cover. Remove two screws(1/4 driver)at top of steel panel in rear of compartment and let it drop. Remove two screws above light. Pry up section above light/fan housing to access two screws retaining the light/fan assembly, loosen screws sufficiently so that assembly can be lifted and removed. Disconnect wiring plug by pinching in the sides of the plug and pulling out. Pull fan off motor shaft. Remove two screws clamping motor. Cut cable tie and molded wiring grommet to free wiring. The existing light wires can be removed from the old plug by carefully cutting around the old plug to free the pins and then pushing the pins into the new plug. Reverse procedure to assemble.

no ice being produced & on Hot point dbl sided frig panel between freezer & frig very warm
Water still came out the front when pressed, but no ice. After removing the Ice container, & the top shelf I noted the icemake inlet was iced over. I turned off the icemaker, turned down the freezer temp, & allowed Ice to melt, but problem returned. I next removed the back bottom cover & cleaned the condenser coils, & drain pan; they were extremely dirty. Then I noticed the condensor fan was not on. After getting the nomenclature plate info off the condenser fan motor I left the back cover off, & put an external fan to blow on the coils as a temporaty fix until I could get the part & replace it. During that time the refrig functioned normally. 3 days later my condenser fan motor I ordered from Parts Select arrived & I installed it.

Plastic part of icemaker broke
I watched the video and then read the instructions. Emptied and cleaned freezer compartment. Removed old unit and removed part of old unit to be used in new installation. I then installed the new unit and turned the water back on. I let the unit produce over night and through the first batch of ice away. Because of the various regrigerators this ice maker was used I had a little confusion recognizing our model, but worked through this problem useing some common sense. All around I'm very satisfied with the results.
