Replacing the part was easy. Just pop the old one out and pop the new one in. This item fixed my leaking door problem. The old arm had fallen against the heating element, which burned a hole through the end. Water was shooting out that hole and leaking under the bottom door seal. Replacing the door seal did not help, but replacing the arm fixed the leak.
The drain pump was making a high pitched buzzing noise which told us that its days were numbered. When I ordered the pump I found out that the dishwasher was really made by Electrolux for Whirlpool. Taking the pump off was a simple matter of removing two hose clamps and prying the pump off the frame. The hard part was realizing that it just pulled off without damaging anything. The new pump easily slipped right in and the screw in hose clamp was easily installed. However, the hose clamp that required pinching with the pliers was not that easy. I had to use a screwdriver to push it all the way on while holding the clamp open with the pliers. All in all pretty easy.
The door springs were broken and the dorr was very heavy to open and close.
I removed the two screws and then moved the dishwasher out a little bit (about 6 inches). I pushed the dishwasher toward one side to make room for me to change the spring with my hand and repeated the same procedure for the other side. After the spring change, I turned an old dishwasher to a new one.
if the wire they snap on was bent it needs to be straightend.......they just snap on. easy to install but wish they had better wheels so this problem would be solved. My 2 sons have same brand dishwashers and have same problem.
Broken wheels, Caps and Brackets. Couldn't hold dishes or wash right.
Just use a hexagonal driver to remove the Upper rack roller, screw the new ones in, place caps on the rail ends, and pop the new wheel on with some pliers! Simple and fun!
Takes longer to open the machine and remove the lower basket than to do repair.
Snap arm and support together, align and twist in machine to lock in place.
Save yourself some time and buy the support. High risk it can be broken while being removed from the arm. I am glad I purchased a new one and didn't take the risk.
One screw that held the roller would not hold as the hole in the case was stripped. I knew when I removed original as there was material in the screw threads
I used both epoxy on the male threads and then pulled out the case and twisted the flat car body flat kind of a nut. Let it sit for 36 hours and now like new.
Removed old hose and went to install new hose from Part Select. Part received was not the same as advertised. It was 6-8 inches shorter than the original hose. Would not make the necessary turns because of shorter length. I even went to Video instruction on installation even though I have been in Machine repair for 30 years , this video showed using the shorter hose and when installed in the video hose also had a kink because of hose length. Had to stop repair and go to hardware store and purchase a longer hose. This purchased hose from the hardware was 50% cheaper and actually worked. I also paid for 2-3 day shipping and received part 7 days later. I am very disappointed with Parts Select and am an owner of an Equipment Rental Facility and will never utilize Parts Select again.
Lower spray arm support vibrated out, melted lower spray arm.
Grab the tab on the support and rotate 1/4 turn counter-clockwise to unlock it, then lift it off. The lower spray arm simply pops off the support by spreading two tabs underneath.
Align the opening in the lower spray arm support with the outlet post in the bottom and rotate 1/4 turn clockwise to lock.
*Note: direction to remove the filter basket differed from the manual. Visually line up the notches and do not twist too far when locking or you WILL break the retainer tabs.
Simply center the lower spray arm over the support and press down until it locks into place.
Removed the two screws that mount to count top pulled the dishwasher out to see how the spring was attached , installed the new spring and the job was done the job it took about 15 mins. to complete.
Followed the instructions given on the video, for replacing the drain pump. I did not pull the unit all the way out of the counter space just pulled it out about a foot. I had to lie on the floor to change the pump. That cost me some time for removal and installation, but I did not have to disconnect any water or electrical lines. I did unplug the power. The exchange went smoothly accept for the one spring clamp. Hard to squeeze and slip on. Would have been better to use a different kind of clamp. I have arthritis so that was an issue. All in all a good experience. A Big Thank You !! to this site . There instructions were perfect, the site is very user friendly. They saved me the cost of hiring a repair person. I'm a 75 yr. old disabled female, if I can do it then you surely can.
