GGE350LWB00 Whirlpool Range - Instructions

My dearest wife could not wait for me to get home from work. She wanted to bake some special cakes. She removed the screws that mounts the bake element to the oven wall and removed the old element. Just used a screwdriver. However one of the mounting screws tumbled out, behind the oven wall through the element opening. She retrieved the screw with pliers, plugged in the replacement bake element, replaced the screws, and baked her cakes. I came home to a freshly baked-cake aroma in the house. What a gal!

I took the two screws off the inside wall oven that attached the lower bake element. I then removed the two screws on the face plate on the back of the oven to allow access to the lower bake element and the wires. I removed the wires from the bake element. The bake element clips slip off, you can cut the element clip/don't cut the wire clips you will need them to attach the new element. Remove the old element from inside the oven and insert the new one and reattach the clips and rescrew all the screws and get cooking. A flashlight may be needed inside the oven.

Remove racks from oven. With a #1 Philips head screwdriver, remove the two screws holding the element in place against the rear wall of the oven. Gently pull the element forward, taking care to NOT allow the electrical connections to slip off the element's tabs. Remove the two wires that supply power to the element. Connect the two electrical wires to the new element. Place the element in place and start one of the two screws that hold the element in place against the rear wall. Start the second screw and tighten completely. Tighten the remaining screw. Test the heating element to 450F to verify proper operation.

Pull the range out from the wall and unplug it. Open oven door and remove philips screws holding the element in place (in back of oven). Remove the back cover removing philips screws holding it on. Find the wires connected to element (element is now loose) and remove wires (pull off). Go back to the inside of the oven and remove two philips screws holding the bracket on the top inside of the oven that is holding the heating element. When I removed these screws I found that I was not able to reinstall the screws due to metal fatigue. I had to cut two pieces of metal, drill small holes in them, remove the two screws holding the stove top (at the front of the range) in place. I then pulled the stove top forward and up. I had to cut two small holes in the insulation to find where the screw holes were. Then I reassembled the bracket and heating element put the screws one at a time up through the holes in the top inside of the oven, lined up the metal pieces that I had cut and tightened the screws. If I had not had to do this it would have been a 10 minute job. Then you just reinstall the screws in the back of the oven that hold the heating element to the back of the oven. Reconnect the wires in the back and reinstall the back plate of the stove. Plug in the range and all is better.

I removed the old thermostat and replaced it with the new one using the supplied wiring adapter for my model of range. Parts Select made this an easy project. Thanksyou

Followed directions as supplied. New part did not work, so it must be in the control unit which is no longer available. So time for a new range.

Our contractor did the installation and he did have o use he pliers I guess to adjust the wires

Turn off power at Electric Panel. Put trouble light in oven. Unscrew and remove two screws at rear. Unscrew and remove two screws on upper holding bracket. Carefully, pull element toward front of over until wires are fully extended. Using pliers on wire clips carefully remove the sockets from the wires. Do not pull on the element. Remove element and remove upper holding bracket. Refit holding bracket to new element. Connect elements firmly into sockets in rear and carefully push wires back into rear of stove. Lightly Screw brackets in rear. Screw holding bracket to roof of oven. Tighten all four screws. Remove Trouble Light. Turn on power and test element. Let element fully heat to get rid of any deposits.

I had to pull the stove out, get on the floor, and replace the lower oven element. The YouTube video instruction was so easy to follow. Now my oven works beautiful. Ready for baking delicious chocolate chip cookies.

Remove the element hanger Phillip screws (2) in the top center of oven. Then remove the Phillip screw (1) each from the connector plate at the rear of the oven. Slide the electrical connector off of each end of the old element and remove it from the hanger. Reverse the above to install. Most important, turn off the circuit breaker for your stove/oven.

Removed stove from slot in wall. Bent rear left leg would not unscrew due to bent metal bracket. Used hacksaw to cut out leg, then straightened metal bracket with small hammer and was able to screw new leg in and adjust height by using level on stove before reinserting stove its slot. Recheck level after pushing back in place and adjust front legs if necessary. If not for bent metal receiving bracket, would have taken much less time. Still easy tho. R'cvd part in two days. Very quick.

My husband removed the screws and pulled out the wires as far as he could. The hardest part was that he had a hard time getting to the back of the oven so I had to take over for him. I pulled out the wires so that I could see the connections and with a needle nose plier held the external part of the connection and pulled out the internal part with my fingers. Once the old element was disconnected on both sides, I put in the new element and pushed in the new connections. I pushed the 2 wires into the back of the oven, put the 2 screws in and - DONE. I think this was the easiest repair we have ever done. We always run into a problem - but not this time. I have to say that I did read some of the other descriptions that were written and they were very helpful.
