EMO2000C01BB General Electric Microwave - Instructions

The order was easy and promptly received. I lowered the cover by removing retainer screws underneath. Simply lowered it and removed the broken glass and replaced it. The bulb was broken and the base of it was stuck in the socket. I didn't bother to remove it because the socket was brittle. I disconnected the socket by unplugging the wires, removing the retainer screws,and removing it. I replaced it with the new one. Screwed in the bulb. I replaced the cover and it was done. Ps: I used an Hitachi cordless screwdriver, which greatly helped when doing this alone.

After reviewing the symptom described on the PartsSelect website I knew I needed to replace the turntable motor. I read the excellent instructions on the website. The consensus of other customers who had done this repair was that it was very easy. They were correct, it was a breeze. While I am handy I always do my homework before I start any repair. The detailed instructions gives one extra confidence. In summary I did the following: 1) Unplugged the microwave from 110v power. 2)Removed the five screws from underneath the microwave and let the bottom panel of the microwave swing down gently. 3 I unplugged the old motor from the power connector. 4)I removed the two screws holding the motor to the bottom of the microwave itself. This allowed the motor to easily drop away. 5) I installed the new motor by sliding the output shaft up into the microwave until it engaged in the slot and then rotated the motor to align the screw holes and reinstalled the two screws. 6) I plugged the motor power leads back into the connector. 7) I raised the swing down panel back up and reinstalled the five screws. 8) I plugged the microwave back into the power and tested the turntable. All was well. This was a good time to clean any dust and grease that accumulated so I did that as well.

First unplugged the microwave, took top grill off, took control panel off, took wires off and used color coded tape to make sure they went back in right places, took fuse out and replaced it and put every thing back and it all worked fine and to top it off my wife did it all. So it was pretty easy.

I thought I could just unscrew the bulbs in the SpacemakerXL Microwave Oven. The bulbs melted into the bulb socket so every attempt to unscrew the bulb with pliers just broke the socket. So I took out the few screws holding up the bottom panel(with the bulbs and filters). I unplugged the electrical connection and took out the sockets but I used PAM Cooking oil on the electrical connections plugging into the sockets to avoid pulling the wire holders from the connection. Replacing both bulbs and the sockets at the same time makes sense since the heat from the stove melts the bulbs in the socket.

I first read where someone had the same problem. Their solution was a burned-out fuse. I ordered a new fuse...installed it and that did not solve my problem. I revisted PartSelect and read how Marla (from Arlington, TX)solved her problem. I purchased a secondary switch and when it arrived, I made a copy of Marla's instructions and followed them to the letter. I installed the new secondary switch into the secondary space, put everything back together and the oven STILL DID NOT WORK. I had to take the latching panel apart again and test each switch to see if there was another bad one. I found that the third switch was burned out. So I took the new switch out of the second slot and installed it into the third slot. I tested the switches before reinstalling the latching panel. This time everything worked. So I put everything back together, reinstalled the microwave on the wall, tested it again, and everything worked perfectly.

simply to install new bulb. Unscrewed the under the microwave lamp door with a screwdriver. Inserted new bulb into socket. good to go

I replaced the cover just fine but i think a sensor went bad

Changing 2 lightbulbs is NOT ROCKRT SCIENCE. With a screw-driver, remove the under MW light lens, unscrew the 2 burned out light bulbs, and replace with 2 new quality light bulbs. Test out that both are lite and working as they should, replace the lens and you are done, Until you find out one of the new (made in Chins) light bulbs is burned out after about 6 hours of being lite, call the parts phonr number and order a new replace bulb.

Replace the fuses

simply unscrewed protective lens cover, and swapped bulbs--these bulbs are great--last for years

I removed light bulb cover shield,took out defective bulbs and replaced with new ones. 5minute repair

Save the screws from your old vent grill, they don't come with the vent grill part! I got the new vent grill within 3 days with standard delivery and just line it up and screwed it in. So easy and it's back to new! I will Use partselect.com for any of my future repairs, very happy!

I used a small putty knife (a butter knife will work, too) to begin to pry off the inner plastic panel. The panel flexes. Gently pull up the panel and pull over the keepers at the top then do the same for the bottom and end. Then used the screw driver to remove one screw from each inside end of the door handle. Those two screws screwed through the metal interior door surround to the handle. Then the metal metal interior surround. Then unscrew the two screws that were hidden by the metal surround. Then reverse the procedure to attach the handle. The interior plastic piece simply snaps into place.

Removed the microwave with the buit in housing from the cabinet. Removed microwave from built in housing. Removed outer cabinet giving access to remove control panel and smart board where switches are located. Removed control panel to get to smartboard. Removed smart board after disconnecting a few wires to allow easy removal. Individually removed and then tested each switch using multimeter. Found seondary Door Switch (bottom of smart board) operation to be intermittent (switch trip button extremely loose and rattle inside this particular switch) Ordered replacement part which came very quickly on standard shipping order. Put new switch on smart board and remounted, reinstalled control panel and reconnected various wire connectors previously disconnected. Then plugged in oven and tested for opertation - didn't work at all! But, after bleeding off capacior charge by removing connectors and discharging capacitor to ground, then reassembling control board and smart board into oven, then trying agian, it has worked perfectly ever since. Do not understand why capacitor disconnect/discharge was required but suspect this reset the control electronics. Easy fix and hope to get another 12 years out of this appliance which is used multiple times every day. Also have two other identical micorwave ovens, one is 20 years old, but these get used relatively infrequently.
