Loud noise when running, longer drying time
I noticed a loud sound when running the dryer which seemed to be louder when starting and stopping. Also my wife was complaining of how long it took to dry clothes. So I opened the front panel (two #2 philips screws), vacuumed out the dust and lint, and while it was open ran it a few seconds. The noise was coming from the rear of the motor where the blower was. I noticed it was not turning as fast or as smoothly as the motor so I opened the housing cover with a 1/4" nut driver and observed the "squirrel cage" blower cage was loose; the "D" shaped center was rounded out. I took pliers, squeezed the clamp, removed the cage, and ordered the part. Once the part arrived (in about 2 days) I reversed the disassembly and have not had any problems since. The actual hands on diagnosis and repair time, not including vacuuming, took about 20 minutes. Very simple.

One of the baffles inside the dryer drum came loose and began to make noise.
I went onto YouTube and typed in my dryer type and problem. Several people have fixed the same problem with their dryer and videod the process. I thought I could handle the job so I sent for the parts. When they arrived, I completed the job within an hour or so. I had to refer back to YouTube a couple of times to get an idea on how to remove and to reattach the turning belt. Now, everything is working fine.

Loud noise coming from area of motor
I removed an access panel from rear of dryer. After reading some other repair comments online, I assumed the idler pulley was bad. I replaced it fairly easily (Tip: take a pix of the way the belt is threaded around the idler pulley and motor pulley before removing - it'll help you remember how the belt goes on). Unfortunately, it turns out it wasn't the idler pulley that was the problem - it was the blower fan on the other end of the motor (remove front panel of machine). Not too big a job to replace once you find where the screws are that hold the front panel on. P.S/ I didn't have a problem with the dryer until I bought and used one of those "lint lizard" things you see on TV. I have a hunch I may have damaged the felt ring that surrounds the blower housing by over aggressivly vacuuming the lint screen area. Hope this helps.

Had a "metal on metal" rubbing noise during operation.
When I removed the front of the dryer I saw one of the old glide kit pads laying in the bottom of the dryer outside of the drum. When I removed the drum retainer plate (4 screws) I could see where it came from and tell by the wear marks what was causing the rubbing noise. When the pad came out it caused the drum to shift downward in the front and the top of the drum cut through the felt seal. All of this resulted in a fairly loud metal-on-metal grinding. The repair went very well. The glide pads are held in place by two screws each and the felt seal is held in place by bent tabs around the inside of the drum retainer plate. Approximately 15 min. to disassemble and determine the problem and 15 to 20 min. to fix and reassemble.

A lot of noise coming from the front of the dryer.
After removing the front of the dryer it was evident that the blower boss had broken where the motor shaft comes through and is attached. I removed a few more parts to make the blower more accessible and removed it. I then machined a new boss and attached it to the blower and reinstalled it.I then did a quick continuity check on the three thermostats since the dryer was already apart.I discovered one was faulty and ordered a new one from you. That repair took all of five minutes. The irony of the whole thing is that while I was ordering the thermostat from you,I asked out of curiosity,if the blower was still available. As it turns out it still is but the new machined part worked out great and the dryer was back up and running in no time.

Thanks again,
Dave

Dryer was making an awful clunking sound.
I pulled it apart and found the bad roller. I did a Bing search on the part number and then went to a Maytag site with parts. I got through the drawings quickly and ordered the part. I was disappointed that US Mail was not offered as a shipping alternative for free.
The part arrived in three days. I again pulled it apart and had difficulty getting the snap ring off. I used a screw driver to eventually get it off. I reassembled the Dryer with the new drum wheel, however, I could not figure out a way to get the snap ring on so I went to the Home Depot (1.5 miles) and got the only snap ring tool they had. When I got home, I had the ring back on in a minute and the dryer back together in about 10 minutes. My wife says it runs like new.

Noisy Squeaking Dryer
We were just about to buy a new dryer because the noise coming from ours was almost deafening. I figured I had nothing to lose so I took it apart per the video I found on PartSelect's website. It was very easy. I found the squeaky roller, bought the new one and installed. The video was very helpful. The only tricky part was getting the belt back on right, but the dryer is now as good as new. This saved me several hundred dollars!

Loud squealing noise at start up
First of all, the ordering process and the repair videos were great. I started out just installing the roller guides, which was the first suggestion on the website and still had the problem. Then I went back and ordered all the other parts because I did not want to take the dryer apart again. Installation went smooth and dryer is running fine. Next time I will order more parts the first time.
