Washer/Dryer would not start
Neither the washer or the dryer of the stacked unit would start. The website suggested that one of the causes could be the thermostat. I ordered a replacement that arrived quickly. Swapping the part only took minutes, and it started just fine.

Dryer noisy
I basically just followed the excellent instructions in the PartSelect video; I highly recommend it. Be careful of other sites, I had one site that told me to take off the top of the dryer somehow, which would have been MUCH harder. Be sure to lay down a drop cloth, it is dirty inside these things.

Dryer door would not close
Sooooooo easy! Ordered the part on-line and it arrived the very next day! Watched the 'how to' video on-line and the fix was a breeze. Bought my Maytag dryer back in 1989 and this is the only problem it's had. For a repair just under $5.00 plus shipping? I'll take it!

Followed the video to the tee really easy. But I have been in the dryer before teflon rub guides and belt.Take the front off, then the drum bracket four screws, open the blower wheel cover, remove the locking clip the wheel just slid off then, put it back together everything lined up just fine. then say to your wife listen to the dryer you can't hear! Works great.

Door catch broken.
I pried out the old one slightly and grabbed it with pliers. Quite possibly the metal catch dropped into the door section, but no problem. I pushed the new one into place with the side of the pliers. Probably 3 minutes time.

Belt broke
Following video instructions, replaced the belt. Did it once before so this time it was easier. Two years ago I replaced the plastic fan as it was spinning on moter shaft making a loud noise. (The moulded plastic fan has a flat which slides on the motor shaft. The motor start up torque over time (15 + years)stripped the flat allowing the fan to spin on assembly.) The mistake I made was not replacing the belt when I had the machine apart to replace the fan.
